For me no coat has been a life saver. I do a lot of remodelling work, often in older houses. Being able to set a laser and center the no coat on the line allows me to straighten a bunch of crooked framing and centerlines of vaulted ceilings. I did have to invest in a corner cobra roller to get it to really work but it's been more than worth the investment. I've learned a bunch by watching you. Thanks for the time and generosity you put into your channel. You are one of the good guys in my book.

Hi Ray. Love these short explanation videos. We are in the process of framing up a duplex (live one, rent other) and would love a video (or series) on tips/tricks/experience from you regarding a whole new build, it has all the usual - inside, outside, off angles, vaulted ceilings, bedrooms, bathrooms, stairwells. Such as which room or where to start. which materials will save you time. how to flow through the house without losing your place or messing up work still in the process of drying. I am a mid to experienced DIY drywaller (dusting rather than grinding) and looking to improving on this large scale job. cheers!

Thank you for this info, And experience!!! You mentioned durabond pealing of steel bead,I recently had this happen, which is sickening because you gotta chisel the stuff off everything else. Because of where I'm located steel bead is most accessible Less driving for a hour. (Do plan on buying bulk and a tool).... anyways With that if you where in a pinch And had to use steel bead what's your procedure?? Do you clean it first ? mesh tape edge?? Prefered mud for install?? Thank you And I like the Proverb too!! Wayne

If I had to use Steel Bead today, I would tape the edges with the bazooka when taping the house. Otherwise, mesh and all purpose. Never durabon on steel bead.

I'm learning a lot in this video. I have a question- is there paper for 90° bends also? I had some work done on my house last fall and part of it was the entryway to the living room with corners which are 90 degree. The drywaller simply put mud and sanded those corners. I'm not sure if that suffices or if I should use something like the paper that you are showing in this video in these corners. This was just a patch job.
