The domino effect you mention at the end is so true. Inferior tradesmen at the start will often effect other trades and their prices that follow. Yet some people just don't get it. They try to go the cheap route and it ends up costing them more. Thanks again for another great video.

It all starts with the Concreeter so if you are building go get them a slab (of beer) and ask them to do a good job 👍

Builder red flags , garage doors hung before rock is finished , finish trades materials stacked waist high in the kitchen, no jonnie on the spot, no water , no temp power pole/electric with in reasonable distance of job (under 100') no insolation blown in attic before taping begins. This is one of my personal reasons for refusing to complete a punch list #1 I state in my bid / proposal that any flaws or issues requiring my return that are not damage done by others trades after I finish the job will be brought to my attention in a window directly before the painter primes or directly after the painter primes ,extra work dealing with a finished site will be billed as T&M minus any repairs that fall under my responsibility and guarantee of material systems and workmanship. #2 improper/non primed new sheetrock by the painter as a cost saving action either by the painter of builders request, I state in my Bid/proposal "no primer ,no guarantee. And this should be in every contract to protect the Taper from inexperienced builders. *Note at time of punch list , apon a recall for any repair that falls under my responsibility ,apron arrival a site inspection will be preformed by a experienced Taper of the interior of the site to estimate how much new weight from finish trades materials and appliances has been added to the structure, and the Taper will inspect the structure for water damage or active leaks caused by improper installation of roof/water proofing or plumbing, or water management/removal systems designed ,present or installed before or after the time which the sheetrock was finished to meet the contracted agreement. If the structure being built on a new foundation regardless the footing system or code at the time of call back near or at punch list when 90% for the final planed weight has been added to the structure as planned (flooring, tile, paint, finish trim , cabinets, sub-floor, appliances, carpet,) and the builder has failed to contract the installation of rain gutters to remove soaking rains or snow melt from the area of the new foundation of the site the Taper will refuse any repairs as the structure will or has settled from its position in grade from when the Taper left the site .water soaked footings and the added weight of finish trades can cause cracking ,bubbling, nail pops ,wallboard to become loose ,finished corners to separate from sheetrock, and many other problems than can be avoided buy installing proper rain/snow melt water removal systems before the final weight of the site is reached . This Taper strongly recommends this be done as a general practice as soon as the roof and siding finishes are completed temp down spouts hoses can be installed (not interfering the final grade of the finished planned sites landscaping or ground treatments ) to ensure run off from the roof dose not saturate the ground surrounding the site and compromise the structures foundation or footing ,thus preventing unwanted and damaging settling as final finished weight of the site is reached . I have seen some crazy stuff caused by water that I was expected to repair for free and had to prove was not something I was responsible for . I think all apprentices should spend time on a punch crew (larger contractors) and be shown in the field how sheetrock only follows the framing ,and if the frame moves so will the rock. Sorry about the book lol ,but thought these red flags may spark some memories of the other tapers in the comments..

Yep! Like warning - don’t do business with this person, things that are a big no, or generally bad business practices.
