Here is a 30 min trick that takes this sander to a whole new level 1.Remove sanding disc. 2.Apply a MIRKA sanding disc to it matching up the few holes . 3.NOW !!!! using a 10mm drill bit. drill through all the holes in the Mirka disc .Or just map out rings of holes etc Re fit disc to machine 4.The machine now will be able to use Abranet etc sanding sheets and have 4 times the level of dust extraction.

I have a 5 second way of improving the evolution sander. : 1. Take sander and throw in recycling pile. With any luck it will be recycled into a tool that isn't the biggest waste of time ever manufactured. Even if it gets melted down into a plastic container....it will still be 400 million times more useful than the disaster of a tool that it is.

Does it include a dustbag? Is a vacuum cleaner necessary for attachment? Thanks in advance.

it dose not include a dust bag, vacuum cleaner is for collecting dust, it will work without the vacuum cleaner but you will have more dust

Hi there, question I’m hoping you can assist with. So I have a similar drywall sander. I’ve recently been using it on previously painted walls to get them nice and flat and smooth. Ended up using 80grit as another higher was taking forever! Worked up to the highest speed and slowly but surely it’s getting the millions of little divots out but in the process of the higher speed and 80grit it’s kind of polish the surface and I’m worried the first top coat wonder stick! I’ve done another pass with the same 80grit (tried 150grit too) on the lowest speed hoping it’ll re-Roughen up the surface with a fresh key but it doesn’t seem to be working! Just keeps polishing it almost. Any advice on any of the above?
@RichManPoorTech Жыл бұрын
When i did the wall your looking at it was smooth like marble, i wiped over with a slightly damp cloth to remove any dust, waited until thoroughly dry approx 1hr from starting to wipe clean and then rollered dulux emulsion straight on and did the panel wall as in the thumbnail and other vid again using dulux emulsion. This was about 2 years ago no sign of paint coming off, and wall has been wipe in a few places

Cheers mate. Even for one large room, I'd buy that tool at the Screwfix price - and sell it on after. Got a freshly plasterboarded large area to tape and joint - been looking for a low dust method of sanding.

What vacuum will it fit. And I didn't hear vac on so is it switched off.
@RichManPoorTech5 ай бұрын
It should fit a universal shop vac, in not you can get universal adapters. I used a Karcher or Kärcher WD3p wet and dry vac in the video but make sure it has the paper dust collection bag fitted, I use it now with a Festool dust extractor as it has a alarm if its getting clogged. if on a large site then that complies with H&S but both work fine

If you put halogen 500 watts or any other source of light beam directly on the wall or ceiling - does it really look perfect or still needs some little corrections here and there (before or after painting)?
@RichManPoorTech3 жыл бұрын
I would say it all depends on the wall quality to start with, on this wall shown is was skimmed plasterboard originally, the electrical work was done and filled, and those paint ridges all sanded, I’m a perfectionist and the smallest imperfections annoy the hell out of.me, the wall is lit with Philips hue lights that would also show imperfections and there is no difference than a new build wall, however I did spend my time making sure the prep was done right, hope this helps

@@RichManPoorTech It does immensely. Thank you.I was tackling Artex removal: scraped about half of its height, primed and applied gypsum type finish. As it is a lot of sanding and dirt when doing it manually - I decided to ..Evol..utionise the job.
@50842043 жыл бұрын
@@RichManPoorTech I did it! I must admit that the surface looks absolutely smashing! Thank you for the review that really aided the decision to purchase it. My few comments: 1. the tool is heavy and sanding 30m2 of ceilings really doest take its toll on the wimp like me. 2. the tool comes with a few sanding discs, replacements are inexpensive on Amazon (about £20 for a box of thirty pads of various density (www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08R645S78/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) 3. Con - suction design is very, very inefficient. I have connected the sander to my Karcher WD2 and it was a drama: gypsum particles just stayed in the guard. Each time I lowered the tool - a huge amount of gypsum was coming out. 4. Tool looks of good quality, but ... my swivelling head guard is very loose. It is attached with the four screws to the aluminium body, tighten well, but it is still loose - you can see the nearly 2mm play on the screws if you move the guard. 5. It looks like, the guard with brushes was designed to have removable about a quarter of its circumference (to aid in sanding the corners), but you will not be able to take it off without breaking the acrylic. Overall? This tool does the job.

it is pretty universal fit, and i use them on 3 different vacuums without problems, if it didn't fit then the are rubber reducers that can be purchased from most diy shops for connecting power tools to vacuums, but as i don't have a Henry i can comment for sure, if your doing a lot of this then you may want to look at adding a cyclonic dust extractor you can make one yourself look at this video from Charlie diyte kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaSahaNohsyVpZY

This is the worst drywall sander on the market. Drywall Sanders are generally rubbish anyway, and are a complete faff, but this one even more so. It's too far too heavy for overhead work. The on/off switch is so annoying and awkward to use that it will test your patience not to smash the tool in two halves over your knee. The corrugated hose holds all that lovely fine plaster dust in its grooves.....so as soon as you disconnect it , it will cover the floor with the dust you tried so hard to avoid. In fact the hose will annoy you and hinder your progress in every way because of the way it's connected. It feels awkward to grip , to hold, and to work......badly weighted. I did one room with mine from new , then sold it for a fraction of what I paid for it....just to get it out of my sight ( if it didn't sell I was going to give it away free to someone regardless).
