Satan has been a clear enemy of humankind since Adam (peace be upon him), that's why everytime a messenger of God came with the guidance of our Lord, the guidance remained pure only till the messenger remained on earth or bit more. But as we study history of every religion this guidance was altered or corrupted by Satan over time, with the help of Man's greed for power. God created us men with some motive, which only he knows. He is good story teller and nothing more than that, whatever you ask him, he will always give an answer in the form of story which is not even related with the question that is being asked. Then again after completing his story he aks you yes or no. You have to say yes in the peer pressure, than he takes you round and round and give you the feeling that you have find your answer. These books were written eons ago and times have changed since then. But the holy books haven’t with time.

Bocah Anom maybe it was the best when it was written. May be not now. I have been born in a family that completely support equality (I.e. no discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, creed, region, sex, etc.) I have grown up to believe that everyone is born equal (in general) but in the end it’s all about what you utilize your time and the decisions you take that decides where you will go. Hence, I have a critical view to all the religious books. Now when it comes to Quran I am curious why you say that it is the most uplifting holy book for women. I have a completely different view about it when it come later to equality. Please note, I am not challenging you or criticizing. Here is a quote translated into english that comes from the Quran. Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. To answer the question he asked regarding the context of why dharabah is used when angels sliced off their heads, it may be be because of the fact that the angels were way stronger than humans and a light strike of their wings would have resulted in their heads being cut off. Why do I feel that he ran away? Cause what the phrase said clearly meant that Aisha has never seen a believer woman this beat up. So believer women were beaten at that time. To an extent that they were bruised badly. What Aisha saw must be much more severe to comment on it. However, her statement was so general that it seems normal until she was surprised by the severe beat up. May be at that time people were still changing and Islam was established but people were not easily changed and patience was needed.
