The si9241 reached end of life 31.12.2014. The chinese have a replacement called DP9241. The datasheets are as good as identical.

@@YOYODiagnostic I'm configuring a laptop for oscilloscope, so it will be a tool cart dedicated to scope. Then I thought...why not add a Windows based scanner. The problem is that the cheap solutions like Autocom, Delphi, wow are jokes. A good android scanner is 20x better than those things. I just want to be able to read live data pids and do activations. Searching a bit deeper there are 3 options (that I found) Bosch, hella, texa. I can get the devices second hand. The problem is the software and in my case doesn't worth the investment. I already have annual costs for the other scanners. Are there any relatively cheap solutions for my problem?

To change those components you need good skills, especially in soldering, it's not for everybody there's a great possibility to ruin the board.

Hello. 2400 euros is new with 1 year update. Now you know how much you want to pay and how much you can afford. If I were to buy it, I would deduct the amount of 600 euros for the annual update, which means that the new tester costs 1800 euros. I probably wouldn't pay more than 1000 euros for a used diagnostic. Bosch is also around this amount, of course used.

The SI9241A (obviously fake there) on the right side is not connected to anything. If you desolder it you will see there are no traces or vias from the chip pads. Nothing. I wonder why is it present? There are some single board versions that have this chip wired up and majority of the "A+ best quality PCB" doesn't have this chip connected.
