Correction: Apple Carplay & Android Auto is wireless and comes as standard. As everyone is complaining about the infotainment system: it is fully customizable to your liking, as well for the 6 shortcuts you can customize. After major firmware and software updates, the system is much faster and more stable than before. Im driving the Performance Line+ PureTech 130 Automatic for a year now. Very satisfied. In the end, when you drive this for a week or 2, you get used to it.

I like the way that this looks, especially from the rear 3/4 view, but I'm not sure that it's appealing enough as a car to tempt me from it's rivals. Going by your review there seems to be a few annoyances that I don't think I could live with. I do think DS are heading in the right direction though. At the as-tested price it would be in the ballpark of something like a Polestar 2 or Lexus UX300e, if you wanted something with electric. If I were to purchase one I'd probably look lower in the range, and a conventionally powered model.

Ever since I saw that new DS4 I loved the design. I was looking for a new car in april (to replace my 2015 Insignia diesel) and did a few tests with the Peugeot 2008 1.2 Puretech automatic, Peugeot 308 1.2 Puretech automatic, DS4 hybrid (1.2 Puretech wasn't available for drive) and a Ford Puma 125 ecoboost hybrid automatic. None of those quite did it for me, so I scheduled a test with a Mazda 3 with the 186hp e-Skyactiv X and immediately fell in love with it. It may be a completely different automatic, but it's butter smooth compared to the others. The engine is quiet until 4000+ rpm, and interior finish and equipment were far above the other test cars when comparing prices. It's a 6 month wait but I bet it's well worth it.

She walked away unscathed and the moose was turned into food by a local.

We've seen some wildlife crossing the Canadian Rockies. We even saw a bear in our rear view mirror. We even turned back to film it (which I know is dumb as kcuf), but fortunately the bear was smarter than us, and decided not to reveal itself again. Moose, deer, rabbits - we see those regularly, because we tend to film at dawn at a relatively woody location. I've even seen a pack of boars recently roaming my neighbourhood searching for trash to eat. These are properly dangerous. Very cunning animals apparently, and with sharp tusks.

You are wrong. I have been watching your review. You sound so pleased with yourself, it just gets on my nerves. You think you are clever and smart but trust me, you are not. You are profoundly biaised against this wonderful car. It looks stunningly beautiful, the design is just sensational but obviously you don't really insist on it. You just prefer to keep bashing this car. The constant nit picking of your review beggars belief. You are looking for any reason to bash the car. A car that has been well received by the press in all Europe. And rightly so. Your two lines conclusion is just grotesque. Absolutely not professional. Seriously, educate yourself : watch German speaking YT channels, watch the reviews over that car, Germans go a million times much deeper than you do. All Europe got really enthousiastic about the DS4 but you fail to see why. Because you are biased. I insist : watch youtubers from other countries, other languages, they really detail what that car offers and why it is a proper premium car. I am German and I can tell you I choose this everyday over a BMW or a Mercedes. Why ? Because it is on same level of quality as a German premium car but 10.000 euros less expensive. Much better value for money... And that design... A feast for the eyes. I don't think you are refined enough to get that. I drove it and it really blew my mind how good it is. And that is from a guy who has been a BWM and Audi driver for more than 27 years. It is as a premium as a premium German car. You should quit reviewing vehicules, you are not made for that. You are just intellectually dishonest. Keep cracking up your silly, 'sarcastic jokes' that aren't even funny. You are the living proof of the old saying : "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit". Bye.
@fordgalaxie37262 жыл бұрын
That seems a bit harsh. A car reviewer has to point out the weak spots. You obviously fell in love with the car, so your judgment is influenced by emotions, and Marek´s isn´t. If Europe is so enthusiastic about the DS4, where are all the buyers? Yes, the design is fantastic, but maybe most people need a practical, dependeable car with reasonable resale value.
@klausschelling81592 жыл бұрын
@@fordgalaxie3726 Of course I have fallen in love with the car, how not to ? You say that people need "practical, dependeable car". So you assume the DS4 isn't like that. That's just your assumption. It is a practical, dependeable car. You make it sound like the car is going to fall into pieces just after a few months. Ridiculous. The car has done excellent in safety test. Check out by yourself if you don't believe me. Where are all the buyers ? DS Automobiles have just released it, I have ordered mine but give them a bit of time, okay ? It's not like the car has been around for years. They have just released it. The argument of "resale value" is so typical British. Only the Brits think that way. As a car lover, I seek for pleasure and fun about a car, emotions. Not the resale value. And as far as I am concerned, I think it's a biaised argument against French cars. "drop in value". Maybe in the UK , but in that country, people buy cars just to impress their neighbour and are ready to pay extra just to get a German badge. About Marek, I am sorry but I need to insist : such nit picking, negative biais and the very poor conclusion make his review good for garbage. It's just not professional work. And, frankly, if you guys can't see what DS Automobiles are offering (refined cars, a refreshing alternative to the big 4 Germans) to the market, then I rest my case.

This is the kind of car that "sounded like a good idea at the time" but will have some irritating French quirk that will cheese you off years or months later. The previous DS4 Crossback was such a good example, the rear door being too small and weirdly shaped for anyone except toddlers to use the rear seats. Most of the folks in my part of the world who bought one didn't think that through, and now regret it. Many have been sent to scrap early, or sold for use as taxis. In this way, French cars are a reflection of their buyers being just that little bit not smart enough...
@MarekDrivesENG2 жыл бұрын
I see a Chinese play list on your account, so I imagine this is where you're from. I heard DS are doing OK in China. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is the DS story in China that "we're a prestigious European brand"?
@cubular30002 жыл бұрын
@@MarekDrivesENG Surprise - yes and no! I'm from Singapore - but since I'm ethnically Chinese and happen to have friends from China, I can indeed answer your question. French brands have been struggling to stay afloat in China for a long time, compared to their German counterparts (in particular VW/VAG) which have become synonymous with the term "European car". The impressions of unreliability and quirky design - we Chinese are a practical people and don't like to waste time, space, and money - has not helped. The situation is bad enough that Dongfeng, a major Chinese firm which once imported or assembled all the brands, has all but given up on both Renault and DS. Citroen is barely keeping its head above water (thanks to "sedans" like the C5 X, the folks in China love their sedans) and the only moderate success is with Peugeot, as the new 3008/5008 has been helpful in clawing back some market share. So the story was indeed once "prestigious European brand", but no one is buying it any more. Or rather, there's nothing around to buy.
@MarekDrivesENG2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. What about the other way round? Some Chinese car brands appear at car shows like Frankfurt or Geneva, maybe even get imported for a model year or two... Do they use this for publicity back in China? As in "European public expressed interest..." etc.?
@cubular30002 жыл бұрын
@@MarekDrivesENG To the best of my knowledge, this tactic doesn't work on the Chinese. Certainly not with the French. Even if Stellantis tried to reposition an avant-garde brand like DS in this way, they would still have to reckon with the sheer size and hyper-fast innovation and iteration in this market. Each month any number of companies from old hands like BYD and Tesla to hot young ones like Nio, Lynk&Co, etc., fight tooth and nail - much harder than foreign brands - and they can offer the same level of luxury and technology. Add to that Chinese nationalist sentiment and you have a recipe that really isn't kind to the weak, and doesn't really need to give mistakes a second chance. The Chinese can be told endlessly about the heritage behind DS or Lancia, but the majority will not buy in.
