Its whats referred to as a "horse warp", and its done by switching characters when youre not intended to and it sends you to a default location. press horse + hold the gadget wheel button at the same time (or to do it easier, start holding the gadget wheel slightly before then press horse), then select the other character to swap to (must be done with the mouse)
