I wasn't going to say anything, but with 7 million views, you have some responsibility to the people to be honest and point out that this does not work well and that it is far from idea. You are going to motivate people to purchase dies and materials to make this tool, and it will be a waste. I can see from the video that the bends are not consistent (the radius is changing) and the bends are damaging the pipe, unlike a properly built bender. This was a fail, and should have been labeled as such... or at least pointed out that this was NOT idea and the results were not great. Instead you hyped it up like it all went to plan. People. If you are going to bend different size pipe, you should be using the appropriate size die and follower. If you are going to bend more than one size of pipe with one bender, you need to have an adjustable follower or keep your follower close to the die to avoid kinking and other issues. This would be a good video IF it didn't end giving the audience the idea that you can repeat this process and be happy with the results.

I make this sort of thing but I make sure the pry bar swings up and down for leverage. Plus there should be absolutely zero wobble, jiggle, so that all your kinetic energy goes into the bend. Also I use a really Stout long pry bar lever, makes it a cinch no struggle. Especially when you have to do hundreds and thousands of bends,💥 that's my two cents. Great job by the way. The next one I'm building, bends to solid bars at once.

Nice build. Only concern I have is the welded center pivot. The plating on those commercial bolts makes welding them sketchy. Make the center pivot 5mm longer and pass it through the baseplate, then weld the head from the other side. That will send the bending forces through the shank of the bolt into the baseplate, instead of through the welds on the sides of the bolt head.

good idea, the only bad thing is the axis of the main mold welded to the plate and of greater diameter, the best would be past and thicker, it is observed how it moves by the applied force.

VERY well made video - I love when there isn't a ton of talking in the beginning, or at all if the footage shows it all. QUESTION ❓❓❓ If the largest pipe I'd want to bend is . 75" inches, (conduit - so steel or aluminum) you think I could get away without welding the pieces you did? Or... would you consider making one to sell??
@Z-Ack2 жыл бұрын
Buy a conduit bender on amazon, like 40$ or so and make sure to get one for 3/4" rigid and is made from steel, not aluminum if bending something other than emt or aluminum or rigid pipe.. its like a head shaped like a J and a handle that goes on the middle of the j. You usr your foot and the floor as leverage like a shovel..

@jeffreycanonero6745 Жыл бұрын
This video is just an good idea for bending pipe and its not designed for all sizes. In your case, wheel Pulley (slot size) was not the fit size for your pipe. It must be fitted in the slot order to hold the whole side of the pipe so it would not flatten.
