Cool upgrade, a bit more fun. Only problem i see is the front fork/suspension, it has only 1-2cm travel before the wheel hits the motormount. On a dirtbike the front suspension has a lot of travel, so you should probably take a look at that. Interesting channel.

To improve more, level your carburetor. The way it sounds, it is flooding out some, or starving for gas. Also be sure your getting adequate oil flow. Your engine isn't level again, this may not allow the oil to be high enough to get splashes inside the crank case. Great build

that thing is gonna break so quick, engine is facing the wrong way and that your suffocating the poor engine with that tiny pipe
@Yosser708 ай бұрын
The engine is the right way round, hence the bike going forward ;) You are right though, it will break but because of the catastrophic design of his chain drive! Going from the back sprocket, which is obviously mounted on the swing arm, the chain goes to a fixed jack shaft, thats fixed to the frame. So as soon as you sit on it the stain will go very slack (as seen in the video)

why are people praising this video? (fully understand that its for a child) why did you just leave the motor running on choke? open the choke and that thing would have so much more power, i understand its for a little brother, but running on chokes gonna kill it, you can build a throttle stopper or something to keep him from goin full throttle, it would just need to have a good bit of throw, ive done it myself for my little brothers, or you could also just gear it down a whole bunch throw a bigger sprocket on the rear, and then gear it down even more (if you need to) on the jackshaft

i've seen a few cheaply made chinese pit bikes before, but this one takes the cake. bicycle brake calipers, and what looks like a modified bolt on bicycle engine!?! you might want to box in that frame since you have a lot more engine. you may start to get cracking in the frame otherwise from the extra weight and torque stress. edit; i was with you up until your jackshaft placement. you effectively eliminated your rear suspension. it needs to be as close to the swing arm pivot as possible to avoid the chain tension changing with suspension travel. you'll be snapping chains with what you've got here. at least now when it becomes a problem, you'll know why.

This was entertaining but i noticed a couple of flaws: 1. you used the angle grinder to grind the chain to shorten it which could have created a weaker spot on the chain 2.i noticed the chain next to the engine is quite loose 3.The engine is mounted metal on metal, which causes a lot of vibration and noise 4.The exhaust is really close to where the rider's leg would go, he probably won't touch it with his leg but it could create a lot of heat 5.not only the bigger engine, but you also added a lot of weight on the bike with the bearings, the 2 chains and steel parts 6.You removed the foam protection on the handlebars, which are meant to protect the rider in case of a collision with the head from an impact Despite these flaws i enjoyed watching and i still learnt some stuff and it ended up being entertaining.

@Calthecool2 жыл бұрын
The gearing is way too high, try using a rear sprocket with like twice as many teeth on it, and it would accelerate much faster. You could also use two different size sprockets on the jackshaft to reduce the gearing. With an engine that size on that small of a dirt bike, you shouldn’t be able to go full throttle from a standstill without doing a wheelie.
@jacobg51222 жыл бұрын
To be honest, it won't make much of a difference. Those 200cc engines only put out about 7 horsepower at 3600rpms. They're made to last a long time running at a constant rpm under a constant load. Something like a generator or a water pump, which is why they're built with such heavy internals and a huge oil sump. The best you can do is put on a dual clutch style cvt to modify the gear ratio as it revs up, since it's only got about 2800rpm difference between idle and full throttle.

Aren't you worried about the rear chain getting loose every time you hit a bump? Because of the angle of the chains almost straight up perpendicular with the motion of travel of the swingarm that's why dirt bikes have the motors almost perpendicular with a swing arm so the chain doesn't get loose when you hit bumps if anything gets tighter your setup is going to get Loose as hell and the chains going to pop off spring tensioner on it just a heads up I've been around the block a few times

Bumps my wreak havoc on the tires anyway, lol, man those contraptions were close to shredding tires. defintely need a tensioner/idler arm for that chain
@DeathKnight5532 жыл бұрын
i have to say the time and effort you put into this is nice i love to see it, but you have major clearance issues with the front of the engine mount and the steer wheel, plus the homemade jackshaft to the rear wheel, there is no room for the suspension to compress, and adult rider would go flying off the first time they put it down after riding a wheelie, with a kid it could be manageable, but first pothole or dip offroad would send them flying i would say the effort into this build was really good, but the technical aspect is horrid i mean just look how much that rear end dropped when you hit the gas while riding it. If you really wanted to make this work you would have taken the suspension out, i see trips to the ER and frequent tire changes in the near future with this build
