Having owned the bike for 2 years here's my opinion- 1. Fantastic bike and great value for money 2. At the service center (Chennai) they had been very supportive and accommodating to odd requests. I get more support in comparison to friends owning other brand SBK's 3. 4 Year unlimited milage warranty un paralleled offering About the bike- 1. Annoying part is due to it low ground clearance have to tip tow over every speed braker 2. Its a bit hard to take the bike out on crappie roads / country roads, thanks to a much harder suspension setup 3. Fantastic power delivery, yet its a bit jumpy and is comfortable only after 4-5k rpm 4. Power delivery is also non-linear (rough while accelerating hard which makes you hold to your pants much harder), while accelerating even a little hard the bike keeps popping up it front far too often 5. Adding grab-rails or luggage racks are impossible and from a touring perspective (This is because the panniers cant be mounted to a casting subframe) 6. Very planted at corners 7. The rear underbelly exhaust isnt heat shielded and causes significant discomfort for pillion and a challenge while trying to tie up the luggage for touring 8. finding Neutral is a big pain 9. Absolutely zero heating issues- thanks to the side mounted radiators, making it very usable under heavy traffic conditions 10. Great road presence and a huge head turner 11. Fantastic braking- good initial bite followed with a nice progressive feel 12. So far havn't missed the ABS 13. Bike's center of gravity and the way the weight is distributed is a bit off. But you don't feel it once on the move 14. Just like other liter class engine incredibly hard to enjoy the bike, you really can't open the throttle much... say on an open road starting from zero 1/3 of the throttle is enough to get the front wheel rolling up in each gear. So one needs experience modulating throttle control Mandatory Upgrades that are required- 1. You need a touring windscreen, this has to be made since no after market parts are available, and the generic ones (piug) won't fit as the headlights are static.. aka attached to the frame and not suspension 2. Frame sliders 3. Adjustable levers (the clutch is a bit on the heavier side while in traffic and after market levers helps a lot)

Tharun Venkat I almost crashed it trying an aggressive downshift, but it's more of my mistake that the bike's. But a slipper clutch and an ABS would have made this an irresistible pick..! How would you rate the 899's usability for weekend rides? Long distance is a Pain in the ass or not? Literally speaking. 😏
@tharunvt7 жыл бұрын
sliper clutch would have been a great addition. So far haven't missed the ABS one bit. Have munched a lot of miles touring and over weekend rides, haven't felt the discomfort yet. Yes, you can't find the same level of comfort from a tourer like versys or Tiger but I have covered 600-700kms on average on a single day with ease. On a different note, the bike is comfortable when reved harder and likes to keep going, and crusing at 120 seems to be a bore as you are reving at around 5k rpm... I usually take a break every 80-90kms (smoker and get bum soar) this is because i am a bit on the heavier side and need to add more cushion to the seats...

Hi Tharun! I'm interested in getting one of these, would you please tell about the fuel consumption? is it reasonable (considering de cc's)or is very high? Cheers from Chile!

insecticon hi, there are many and multiple good products out there, I like the bike for its appeal and design, and it stands out of the crowd... Have done good number of miles on it and so far it's been very smooth... But since am more into touring these days thinking of getting a different bike. To sum up it's a great bike, awsome riding feedback a definite head Turner... But now u have bikes with better technology and gizmos on...

I really LOVE this video! Although it isn't able to transfer the emotions a TNT provides to the rider, it shows it at least. Owning a TNT, I know how special this bike is. It's one of the most emotional rides you can have (although the 1130 I'm riding is even more emotional... :D ). P.S.: Why didn't I add a comment to the 1130 review? - This is the much better review!!!

Guys, your videos are like Hollywood movies - Super action packed with exceptional editing, Method acting by Sarge and a Oscar winning crew and cast, Morgan Freeman style narration by Ten Hut and Logical explanations from Charles and Satyen. @YashBhatia28109 жыл бұрын
+Tharun Venkat totally agree with you sir. Its not just about the braking but the overall stability which kawasakis deliver. This is purely my personal experience and might be wrong too.
@Harshith8248 жыл бұрын
+Tharun Venkat Sir... I just can't thrash you away as you are much elder than me....But one thing i need to tell you is that there are some riders who are looking forward to upgrade their bikes from 200-400 cc to 750-1000 cc as their ride. But there are few amateurs who knows nothing about disc brake and the method to apply it as they are adjusted to drum brakes and they are looking to buy a big capacity bike and they desperately need ABS.....Think for 5 minutes....you are riding your bike in Rainy condition and all of a sudden something comes out of nowhere....and there be a situation for amateurs where they need to brake so hard the the must stop....but without the ABS he might be under panic braking and loose the control....in the worst case he might loose his life... We will be born once and die once...there is no second chance whatsoever...

After 5 years with a TNT 899 2013, I must admit that it was an aggressive motorcycle that after passing through it I feel that motorcycles of other brands are easy to use, even if I no longer have my benelli, I will miss her. Although now I have an Aprilia tuono 1100RR and a Triumph Street Triple RX that are better in many ways, the Benelli is still unique, beautiful and incredibly competitive. Hopefully the model reappears in the market, but with today's technology

Always thought, the next thing in video should have been 60 fps and not 4K. Looks stunning ! This looks right out of the motorcycle book, where all they bothered about was the motorcycle. The electronics left at bare minimum. Great for experienced riders. Beginners should still choose the Z or the 79ps Striple IMO for its fuelling and tractability. For me, among the Z and the Striple, on the Bangalore streets only, and, for me, if you are tall and strong enough, get the Z for its ease of ride. If you are shorter and weaker, one would be better off with the 79PS Striple but would have to do with playing with the clutch a lot in heavy traffic unlike the Z which will just pull like a "locomotive". Looks are subjective but I feel this 899 TNT (What a name !!! Italians for God's sake ! ) is a timeless Italian design which will always look beautiful, even after another decade of presence on the streets. The Z on the other hand is out of the Jap Anime books and will lose its edge in a few years when Kawasaki make a even meaner looking machine with even more bells and whistle. Also, Benelli has told their line up would cost between 3.5 lac to 14.5 lac ex showroom which to me sounds high pricing to keep its exclusivity. Not good for numbers but will maintain its niche that way. The 300 for 3.5 lac and the 1130 for 14.5 lac should leave this beast at around 10-11 lacs ex showroom which would put with the Speed triple and the Z1000 instead of the Striple and Z800. Not a good option IMO. And come on Benelli !!! ABS !!! Kawasaki been promising the ABS for the 650 for a couple of years now but they don't so doubt Benelli too. How is the fit finish ? I hear they are below par and the side mounted radiators are flimsy and move. Also, how about its ability to cut through the traffic considering this, at the end of the day, is a street naked !
