My prediction is they obliterate stun to deal with the unintended consequence of stun being strong on non-warriors and then just totally forget about the fact that this will brick warriors even harder than they already are. It's a way that warriors can get fucked so it's pretty much guaranteed to happen.

I'm sorry to even admit but d4's barbarian is leagues above warrior when it comes to the feeling of the class. when you charge with barb you are not stopped by enemies you simly push them around and crash them to walls etc to stun them. just feels amazing comparing to what warrior does right now

I ran a corrupted hunting ground map t15 and corrupted and the crow bell three stage boss had the mana eater debuff in the small arena. You couldn’t stand anywhere and not have your mana soaked on top of his speed.

In defence of demon form - 300 stacks is not possible for a lot..but 230+ stack lets you barely do pinnacle bosses on difficulty 4. What should be nerfed is interaction with swaping helmet to mask of the stitched demon. U dont lose ES in demon form+ u get 1,1k life recovery wich let u play with 700+ stacks... THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

S T AY to clear whole screen and ranger that is.. well ...ranger. Demon form is literally using its own mechanics, while other builds dont need such stuff to go ham on everything in their peripheral vision ;___;

I've got 1900 HP on my Ranger and it's basically a one shot to almost every T15+ skill despite max resists and acrobatics. The way I see it if they don't nerf ES I'm taking it since the only other option is exploding the screen and killing bosses in sub 10 secs as the only other viable survival strategy. Stuck at lvl 93 because something will just detonate under me with no telegraph warning and boom insta death. MY personal favourite atm is the expeditions that spawn death circles under you multiple times in a row. Had 5 come at me once and the only reason I survived is because acrobatics dodged 3 of them. Getting tired of the rando deaths you literally can't see coming or dodge because they get spammed at you making your dodge roll pointless.

Honestly, there is so much broken balance wise. There is an insane amount of t4 pinnacle one shot builds at this point and this was unavoidable from the get go. I don't think they should waste time on nerfing anything, but generously buff the underperforming spells first, fix ACTUAL bugs with interactions and mechanics to have a clean and safe base for build crafting and then see what happens. After that we need the other weapon classes and skills ASAP, that should be top priority along with fixing the mechanical groundwork. Like there is no real integrity of the game rn anyway, why pretend there is something like a trade economy to "protect" with nerfs. It's literally impossible to do that at this point. Targeted nerfs are also redundant, when the foundation of mechanics like conversion and affixes working under dubious conditions are this bugged rn.

@@sirgalahad42 nah not at all. it was perfectly fine like that. they are now sitting on a mountain of data they can work with to get the worst things out of the way first. we are beta testers and this isnt a released product. it is in full development and you cant replicate the valuable data and feedback of multiple 100k playing the game internally.

@@dshearwf well if they have released jan 6 trade economy would have been in a much better state since they would be able to hotfix instance reset stuff that created temporalis dupes (i do not personally care about any of that since its ea anyway but some people do). They can always sit on lots of data if thats what they want but not having any control or ability to patch things on a game you just relased is never a good idea :) remember how fast they were nerfing jungroan builds when they were at the office. yes you can not guess every single overperformer but you do not have to anyway, just react to what is happening at a decent pace.

@@sirgalahad42 again, you guys are going on about the economy as if it has any meaning or bearing on the game. it's a beta test. there is literally no point in thinking about such things or remedy them. if trade economy would be any crucial aspect of the game, they would have adressed all that already. Like it is probably even beneficial for the testing and development process to have a lil overabundance of the biggest rares and uniques for now to see what players come up with. it's a beta test and nobody cares what you achieve playing a beta test version of a game. There is no integrity that needs to be uphold for any reason, the sole purpose is just to create data for them to continue develop the game.

Isn't the unintended interaction that your bow applies to it in the first place? It's technically an unarmed attack. I cant recall how monk unarmed skills scale but I'm pretty sure they have their own scaling and don't scale with the weapon at all. Will note that I haven't played it. It just sounds weird for a quiver and bow to have any impact on a throwable potion in the first place lol.

@karaokepanda8602 nothing on your bow applies to the concoctions. The concoctions are a projectile skills with thrir own Base damage and therefore scale well with Base Levels. Thats also one of the only Things to scale it, there ist only 1 wheel for unarmed attacks in the while passive tree. Making it so that the generic +to Level of all projectile skills from the quiver Not applying to concoctions for some arbitary reason would Nerf the concoctions into an unusable state again, after they were Just buffed. Removing the probably unintended benefits from "damage with bow attacks" for concoctions would reduce the damage by ~30% and leave them in an okayish state.

it's the fact that the skill itself says "dealing UNARMED Chaos attack damage" but the attack damage is counting "increased levels of projectile skills" from your quiver that is being buffed by your bow, meaning it isn't really unarmed.

This is not the point, the point is it is classified in the tooltip as a PROJECTILE a projectile in PoE2 is classified by a ranged animation that throws out an object... No bug here, now if what your saying is it should not give SPARK ranks because it is a projectile then they would have to change the terminology of all PLUS ranks. Shockwave is a melee ability but who is playing shockwave in melee? I hope this clarifys. The person who is behind a lot of the concoction builds has said the bug is not in the skill ranks but in fact behind the DAMAGE WITH BOW SKILLS

I like where evasion is bc crafting sucks and it’s not easy getting 2 good evasion stats on all the items. I’m sure with crazy gear it’s crazy good. I’m running around with 29-30k evasion without acro on and it’s good but I’m still at risk if I get caught in slams/aoe. With acro I go down to 75% evasion, but I die less with acro off. Glass cannon without points to spare to reach the big ES nodes

The only thing that seems bugged with Concoctions is that they get damage from "Damage with Bow Skills" on a quiver. I've migrated my build away from using that because I expect it to go. Quiver effect working with proj skill levels seems fine. A 250% Widowhail gives +5, which is the same you can get from a bow.

Nerfing Grim Feast, Archmage, ES, Everlasting Gaze, and Freeze / Stun all in one patch would just massacre sorc tbh. Been running Archmage Eye of Winter, and without a decent Archmage, I'm not quite sure how to scale DPS for non-lightning sorc to a competitive level with other builds in the game. I admit that I can just be naive to some options, but just an initial concern if this bingo card is on the money whatsoever. Additionally, I have a large concern that if all the items in my list get nerfed (which yes, I'm expecting they will), then lots of tree points will have to be routed into a bunch more defense. I get that it's somewhat expected, but I think the DPS drop for sorc with everything combined will be so significant that it's just gonna make the class feel dead compared to other popular classes. In my opinion, ES doesn't even feel super great until you get CI. Even at high amounts. Reason being that one single freeze / stun, or as you put it "a single pebble" can just chunk tf out of it. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this! Love the content!

Lots of people will fuckin stop playing if they do that. I put 300+ hours into my character and if they nerf the shit out of it I'm done. They don't need to nerf anything except maybe what allows one shots on the top end, anything else will hurt other players who are just trying to get comfortable in endgame and do decent damage and make the game just unfun.

I don't know why everything thinks Archmage specifically should be nerfed, people are so dramatic and quick to call for nerfs, it really is just about the only playable build on Sorceress. If anything at all needs to be nerfed, it's just the top end that allows for ridiculous one shots, anything else will hurt more moderate players(the majority of the playerbase) and just make us quit.

For example: nerf archmage and buff the base dmg of every spell. Not nerfing archmage would be idiotic as with the current state there is zero sense not to take it on every build. And if you just buff everything else, you are also buffing archmage as it scales everything multiplicatively

Wrong. ES is out of band too high. It needs to be cut down a lot and armour needs to be increased. Evasion is very strong currently.

@@chandothemandowrong. Es is balanced with the exception of grim feast. Evasion is the best defense in the game because you simply avoid dmg to begin with. Armor needs a ton of buffs to be brought up to par.

Attribute stacking actually does a lot of damage ! My build is prob 300 divs atm but I was deleting T4 pinnacle bosses in a couple seconds even before getting Astramentis (Not using mass tempest bells either). The build is actually quite stupid and poe1 tier, deleting entire screens when hitting any mob, having 4k hp/mana without trying, while moving at like +80% ms.

My thoughts exactly. I don't have the time to play this game 12 hours a day. I've been playing since launch and I only have one character in end game, level 86, and like 130 hours in the game total. I haven't found a single citadel, haven't done any end game bosses yet, and I've only managed to get 1 div drop with about 160% rarity. Game feels nigh unplayable and extremely sloggish. Feel like I'm hoping for some changes to make the game more respectful of my time, but also seems like that won't happen based on how they're interacting with the game thus far. I'm fine with big outliers being nerfed obviously, like that unique that makes lightning bolt trigger on crits causing and infinite damage loop if you get to 100% crit, but it feels like everything else in the game should be buffed rather than nerfing just a decent amount of the top strategies, like energy shield being strong. ES is only strong cause it's the only way to not get 1 shot. I personally think that all damage in the game needs to be nerfed, not ES to get nerfed. I'd personally prefer if they massively reduced the damage that enemies deal, but also massively nerfed player sustain (not max life). With the way pots, ES, and health regen currently work, the player will almost always be at full HP - so the only way to kill them is with bullshit, such as one shots. Massively nerf HP regen imo, make ES take much MUCH longer to recharge, and nerf the health that life pots give back and/or reduce their max charges massively. It really feels like specific and targetted nerfs and health sustain would be the only way to nerf the damage in the game without the "get good" no life mob being pissed. I still think that would result in a better long-term dynamic for the player. It'd actually feel like it's your fault when you died, sometimes, instead of always dying instantly to bullshit, or needing to abuse pause reloading in order to not lose your maps or HC characters. I'm hoping they buff the majority of the cold spells. I'm a cold stormweaver and I use archmage since I need it to deal a somewhat reasonable amount of damage, and at this point I'm doing more lightning damage than cold damage. My elemental storm triggers and summons a lightning storm every time now, never an ice one. Worst part is, there's no alternative. Cast on freeze and crit suck against common mobs, which is what I'm struggling with. Bosses and rares are extremely easy for my build for the most part. My cold spells are slow, so ranged enemies can get out an attack and I have to dodge before my slow-moving projectiles even reach them. It makes mapping an absolute slog, and mapping is like 99% of what you do in the end game. It's so unbelievably and mind-numbingly boring, and if I ever stop paying attention because I get too bored, I get one shot by a couple random common ranged enemies that can still do all 7k of my energy shield with two attacks, or stagger me so I die to some other random BS.

I feel like they stumbled upon great power level of players for mapping but bosses are completely out of balance so i'd not be surprised if they dont touch most things except making endgame boss fights far far more tanky so they do their mechanics. And it's not a big risk to give bosses far more hp/def since they dont have enrages so anyone playing Quin build could still win even if the fight would be quite long.

Considering that it's an ascendancy ability and you spend 2 points on it + it's a unique ability of one subclass? The budget for the build is not big, I agree, for 20-50 divine you get a comfortable closing of all the content, but not everyone will want to pump a separate character to play on this setup.

pdr doesnt work like you think, the tooltip is extremely unreliable, its generally indicative works for small hits but armor is less effective on larger hits meaning your pdr is way lower against bosses big slams, if the tooltip says 70% pdr, you might have 5 against a big slams

I hope game-breaking stuff gets fixed first. Unfortunately, the bug report is full of trivialities. And not bugs, so important bug reports get lost. Can't do the Sanctum boss with demon form without an error code, for example. Something like that should have priority. Demon form nerf? Then some builds would have to be nerfed even more. Especially with Dead Eye. Getting 300 stacks in SSF is pretty difficult and not that easy. 200 is realistic. And then an Archmage or a Dead Eye with very good weapons is still significantly stronger. Capped at 10, demon form is completely useless.

Capping at 10 only served me well in cruel. I was able to walk through the campaign just using contagion and essDrain. Completely fell off in maps, had to change builds.

For Temporal chains, it's about the interaction with Time Stop from chronomancer. I made a video & reddit post about it but, apparently for some people, being able to Stop time boss for 40s is actually "fine" , while it litteraly may ruin the game if we see too many of those build (which cost litteraly 0 exalt, you only need Levels), popping and selling time stop to people, specially in HC. They cant really add any new boss or sell any new mechanic as long as it exist, because you litteraly Skip the fight.

The numbers are ahead of everything else on Archmage because you spend your entire base spirit to run the aura, having the build in a functional spot where you arent constantly dying but still have big time damage costs a ton of divines. Idk, I am probably coping but I dont think the issue is archmage, the real issue is lightning conduit being absurdly overtuned

Is it bad that my build checks of 8 bingo tiles by itself? Polcirkeln is Swedish for the polar circle, so the pronunciation is sort of "pol circle n" I wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed /exit ... its just way to powerful, its sort of faster than lulbot as you go to char selection instead of login screen 😅

There is 1 build per class. Any skills not in that build will be nerfed to force everyone to use the same cookie-cutter builds. Once they have that then balancing is easier.

I think the pole(whatever) ring will get nerfed by making herald of ice not being able to chill, the whole point of them is not being able to proc themselves. The ring was clear intend to just let you always proc it with your hits regardless of freeze to make it easy to proc like herald of thunder

i think evasion is completely safe. you can still get clapped in t15+ with evasion & acrobatics. that’s why we see a lot of ranger builds taking the starting notes for monk and switching to es.

I think they will nerf alot of things to break builds, but also throw in a new class or weapon/skills to shuffle players onto testing those. And people will be happy because the new things will be just as imbalanced and op. Its early access, so its probably intentional to make things OP to get players to stress test them before moving on to the next thing they want stress tested. On full game release, everything will be less powerful than it was initially introduced.

I agree with all this but i feel its missing gemling legionaire ascendancy that doubles the bonus from main stat is disgustingly op, valuewise its probably the highest theorethically of all ascendancies and they also have access to max resist based on how many perfect jewelers you can afford. hmm maybe in a softcore based balance people would say that none of this things provide meaningful dps increase but in hardcore the amount of value you can get from this is completely insane.

You can tell you are pretty clueless on Demonform, it's nowhere near trivial to get 300 stacks, it requires to sacrifice ALL your build to just defense and regen, with no offense. They will fix the demon stitch helm, sure, but Demonform is nowhere OP as u call it. It's hilarious you say demonform will surely be nerfed but you say stat stackers are fine and won't get nerfed.....You mention freaking polcikern ring, but you don't even mention Howa, THE gloves that absolutely EVERY attack build uses?

@@sirgalahad42 Polcirkeln does something that they literally nerfed in PoE 1, easy access to chain killing multiple screens. Remember Winter Orb with Herald of Ice? This is basically the same thing and requires very little effort to pull off. Not sure how they could nerf Polcirkeln though, maybe make chain explosions deal less and less damage but that sounds kind of iffy.

Trigger still matters for mapping. Specifically, I'd expect that the Raging Spirits get nerfed in regards to cast on minion death. A big one I think you are missing is Shock. Between magnitude stacking on it and the double shock in Stormweaver, with it being its own multiplier, well, Shock is a big part of why lightning builds dominate.

Actually you are wrong on concoctions. The current interaction with proj skills is intended. If you read the skill it just says it deals unarmed attack damage, but not that you need to be unarmed for the attack. So any type of weapon and offhand you have equipped when you throw it will all count their modifiers, except the weapon damage of course because it uses its own added elemental damage (that is the "unarmed damage" it says in the description). And since it's a projectile skill..... Long story short the widowhail interaction is working as intended. It's just that they overbuffed all the concoction skills to the point that they are too strong. So if they nerf them they should nerf the skills and not the widowhail interaction.

If you get your base slow from temp chains to 61% (something you CAN do) get 98% curse effect and 360% aura effect ( can be achieved with adorned and 18 jewels) you can slow boss's by 100%. Here's the math 61 x (( 1 + .98 + 3.60) x.59) = 200.8242 % slow with the boss having 50% less effect so you end up with 100% slow.

With a level 31 temp chains and a level 21 blasphemy your base slow becomes 64%, meaning you'll only need 325% aura effect instead of the 360%, saving on 2 jewels with adorned.

@@dmitrijsmironovs7513 without ghostwrithe the amount of es you might have at the beginning of the maps is like 2-3k at max.even the titan boss at the campaign is dealing 9k damage with a single attack of his own. you will get clapped so easily at higher tier maps if it does not overcap. also why would I waste 30 spirit if its not even overcapping. maybe they should make it cost 60 or 100 spirit idk but it should absolutely overcap or it is useless

People seem to forget that PoE1 had a massive powercreep and a few years back they buffed ACT1 monsters because of that. PoE2 will have powercreep. It's quite normal for games like these.

I mean, if they nerf all or even most of this without a "Early Access Season 2", I think I'll be done with this game until full release lol. If it works as intended, even if the numbers are high, leave it alone until a content update. The only things that should be getting nerfed are bugs and server crashing builds, otherwise, things should just be getting buffed to the level they plan to nerf the strongest builds down to in the future (so the strongest builds will still be the strongest until the content patch).

The real bug with concoction is the skill benefiting from "% more damage with bow skills" from quiver. It's not a bow skill, it's unarmed skill. Remove it and the build is pretty garbage.

boss hp buff would just make thief's torment even more mandatory for my build and many other builds. Mana cost is just way to high the more links you get, so instead of getting stronger you get weaker as you can now use even less skills before you run out of mana flask charges it just doesn't feel good to play

If they nerf grim feast or ES too hard I am very worried about my survivability lol. Armour won't do the trick, my block is great, but without a large health pool or ES that's still not great defense with the amount of damage some shit deals in t15+ maps and I don't think I can realistically spec a good witch/infernalist build with evasion.

Which is weird because at the same time minions are insanely slow map clearing comparing to other classes? In around 25h, with sorceress i reached my witch's level which took me probably around 50h, and within another 10 lvls im already clearing everything ~10x faster, not worrying much about dying as i did with witch, and i can even do breaches, which on minions was impossible for me.. (chance is i just did something wrong with my build, but idk what you would need to have on minions to clear maps as good as other classes)

The nerfs are completely justified and necessary, though I'd say they should sort out the defenses first before going huge nerf on the offense. People need to remember that PoE is a long-term game, where each league builds on top of the previous ones to get you more content and stuff to work with in terms of building your character. If the baseline (which is what they're figuring out right now through EA) is so busted that you explode entire screens with one attack and delete uber bosses in less than two seconds, what interesting content could be possibly made on top of that? You quickly end up in a design space of "they need two seconds to kill the boss, so we need to give the boss an ability that will kill them in half a second", so in essence, poe1 mapping - the thing is, in poe1 it took a decade of power creep to go from 100k dps builds to shapers per second dps numbers.

I can def see temporalis getting changed. Maybe just the interaction with Blink. I refuse to believe that GGG wants poe2 to have a higher clear speed ceiling than poe1 when the game is so much slower in general. Also don't see why nerfing Ev and not ES. Es is clearly in a much broken state even if Grim feast gets changed. Tbh if anything I'd rather see they buffing armor so it's not useless rather than nerfing either EV or ES.

temporalis is a chase item, i really dont see it getting a nerf, demon needs a rework, its almost useless other than mapping if they fix the helm swap glitch, i do expect them to fix it, but also there at some point needs to be something to support this build more, 230 stacks isnt really that much damage unless your doing spark, but then if they hit archmage, then demonform builds will get double nerfed. either change how demonform works or remove it, if not people just wont play it, its already hard enought to get resists and regen stacked enough for endgame, double hitting it will just make it unappealing.

i really don't see why everyone thinks archmage is OP. Very odd to me. The issue isn't archmage, the issue is EB in conjunction with Energy shield and how piss easy it is to get lol. Nerf archmage and it prevents them from nerfing the actual problems without risking killing archmage. Nerf ES, ES nodes, etc, and that indirectly nerfs archmage builds and mana stacking. Not to mention some of the ES nodes give mana for free in conjuction with the ES

Grim Feast is good but not OP at all. When you do a very juiced map, it's very very hard to overflow ES cause any attack deal a lot of dmg. Concoction issue is the %increased bow dmg affect the concoction dps. If they do something like poe where u need have no weapon to use concoction, i'll be needed to add some unarmed nodes on tree.

They should nerf all those broken items / builds and they should ban all the bug users otherwise we will be left with a " unfair fomo" mentality in the majority of playerbase as they almost never get to see those drops or reach hundreds of divines to buy after they patch exploits . This stuff should be eradicated from the game and the pace of poe 2 should be more in line with killing a boss in about 10 sec max where you get to see his mechanics towards a more engaging skill based combat that was promised .

If they nerf ES and Grim Feast but dont fix one hit kills or on death explosion, off screen one hits etc at the same time I can see ppl rage quitting the game due to there being no defense against one hits anymore. Also not buffing other defense layers like armor and life. Nerfing everything OP but not nerfing mob damage etc or buffing lackluster skills will be a big mistake.

None of these are important. The majority of these affect only a tiny fraction of players. It would be economical ridiculous to spend resources on these issues at this time. Nevertheless I expect that GGG will fix some of them over time of course. It's very hard to imagine that it all works as intended. Personally I am looking forward to see the reaction of those players who think it's smart to play a nerf candidate built.
