I couldn’t decide what to get for wildlife photography : DSLR or mirrorless, watched so many videos… and now it’s all clear! I will still go with DSLR. Thank you!

Nice Video Aaron!! I agree with most the points that ur making. I have two mirrorless cameras, Fuji Xt1 and Olympus Omd-Em5. with two DSLRs, canon 5D mark 1 and mark 2. Both the mirrorless cameras despite being relatively newer then my DSLRs have started malfunctioning, rubbers came off, dials acting weird. I think mirrorless are too fragile while both my DSLRs are working flawlessly. I think if u want camera that last u forever. Go DSLR. you will get wider range of cheaper lenses which are more durable. Good video. Keep them coming.

I only own the Canon R6, but I did use an older Panasonic G7 that felt fragile. So I kind of see what you mean, but as far as the lenses, all my EF and EF-S lenses are compatible with Canons new Mirrorless lineup. I haven't bought an RF lens yet. They're way to expensive at this point.

Thanks for the review I really enjoyed it. I am proper old school. The last cameras I had were film. Canon AE1, Olympus OM10…. I lost interest as life got in the way, but I want to get back into it now. I missed the DSLR age completely! So I’m going from film, direct to … I’m thinking mirrorless after your review. Of course being old school film I do understand the fundamentals… but mirrorless sound a lot of fun. I think I’ll go that way even having considered a Nikon D500…. Thanks again dude. Great job. Im a few years older than you so understand about the glasses issue. I got verifocal glasses a couple of years ago and honestly, should have done it years earlier. So much easier for everything and using my 6D mk II is a breeze with the permanent glasses on 😊😊

Mirrorless, for a more compact setup. I don't shoot sport/action/animals, I don't shoot weddings, I don't shoot with strobes, I don't shoot video. Just a guy who likes to take pictures every day while walking. Happy enough with EVF. Also planning to get a medium format kit, so DSLR is obviously a big no. I'm still happy with my current DSLR, but obviously my next gear is a mirrorless. With Nikon and Canon pushing their mirrorless systems, the fate of their DSLR lineups don't look particularly exciting.

Hi Aaron, thanks for this informative video. I have a questions if I may. Do you think if worth me learning photography just to take vacation, snowboard and drifting photos? I'm not planning to work in this area but I like quality photos you know. Not sure if it's worth the time. Specially that nowadays with cellphones cameras evolving so fast. What do you think? Please let me know when you get a chance. Thanks!

You may want a smaller camera. Smaller than the regular mirror less. Take a look at some of the newer compact cameras. Most are mirror less. Have a much larger than a cell phone sensor. And much better optical zoom lenses. But not interchangeable lenses. One of the top of the line, weather proof models, with a decent range, macro capabilities, with a view finder, not just the rear screen.

@@gregorypecaut7164 Thanks but I already have an old Nikon D3500 with two lenses. one for close and one 70-135mm I think. It came on a combo.

Thanks. I have a wide angle 10 - 18mm lens on my DSLR canon rebel t5i. Can I put that lens on a mirrorless Canon R?

Yes, with the $99 adapter, you can use any ef or ef-s lens.
