I’m surprised you didn’t mention that Maxwell could utilize his shadow duelist to attack the big tentacle with out taking damage from the smaller tentacles. Otherwise great tips as usual.

note that you'll get double the drop for tentapillar. So if you kill it and jump in, the tentapillar on the other end is killed automatically, thus, drop its item as well.

I saw on Twitch a guy use the Houndious to kill the Big tentacle from a distance , not a fast way but very effective

you could also place cobblestones around it + pig houses (plus a pig-food trap... so when they become werepigs they dont...well... kill you) so thanks to the road you have a lesser chance to get hit by the babies, and the pigs get rid of them for you (plus, ocasional meat drops). i find them better than the bunnymen because... well... those guys are nuts (and you may accidentally carry meat-based food without remember it).

Similar to how tentacles can’t spawn on walls with On Tentacles book, if you build and destroy a bunch of walls placed near the big tentacle, the baby ones won’t spawn there. It may seem costly, but it’s really a one time cost, as you can reuse the walls the next time you fight it.

I tested out, it didn't work, Baby Tentacles still spawned there. I will retry it now. Edit: Just retried it, still didn't work with smashed hay walls. Baby Tentacles still spawn there. It was my 7th point originally, that's quite an interesting method for a long-time world.

Easier solution to gunpowder, just use slurtle slime! It acts just like gun powder, does the same amount of damage, and is easy to obtain! Your welcome.

Yeah the caves are in DST, you only need to activate them in creation world's settings though. There's no 'DLC' in Don't Starve Together by the way, it's a different game from DS.

One of these wormhole will take you to the Atrium. Normally it's the only way to get there, but sometimes the Atrium can spawn close enough to the Ruins so you can just telepoof there with a Lazy Explorer. In which case, yes, the Big Tentacle is not worth the hassle, although since Hutch is taking all the beating, there should not be a waste of resources.

In Don't Starve Together, Hollow Stumps regenerate after a relatively long time, making Catcoons renewable. The time to regenerate equals to the sum of the Season's length and the number of the remaining days in that season, at the time the Hollow stump is destroyed. Therefore the regeneration happens from 15 to 40 days in a default world configuration. For example, if the Hollow Stump is destroyed on the 8th day of the Winter, since Winter is 15 days long and there are 7 days left, the Hollow Stump will regenerate 22 days later.

Catcoons renewable? How? They have 9 spawns per den and then that's it, how its "renewable"? *reads wiki* ohh... but... dead one will come back to live or I need to hammer it down and new one will respawn? It isn't specificed

Add the days left in a season and how many days the season is and that's how long it will take to regenerate so yes catcoons are renewable

Ok, but why would you want to? Like the tentapillar is basically harmless if you leave it alone, and the loot drop isn't that big... I mean, all I've ever seen is one single rock, and maybe, just maybe a tentacle spike. So I don't know why you would want to attack this thing. Unless it's just for the heck of it or something.

Leira Whitehart: mostly the only point is to get to the atrium and find and kill fuelweaver. After u kill it it acts like a worm hole in the cave. So they can be used to move large distances in caves. There are 6 - 8 in total meaning u have a 1 out of 5 or 1 out 7 chance to go to the atrium.

Leira Whitehart: after u kill the big tentacle it's a worm hole jump through, u travel to the other side. After u jump through, or soon after the big tentacle will come back. U need to kill it every time u want to use it. There are 6 or 8 I think in every cave. One big tentacle will transport u to the atrium. The atrium is a hidden part of the ruins. The atrium is inaccessible otherwise. The atrium is where u can fight the final DST boss.
