The front hub can be converted cause I just did. Switched the end caps from 15 × 100 to 12 × 100 mm. I must say that I did this with the latest model DT Swiss 350 (2021).

Its an interference fit system. Use heat on the hub portion when removing the caps. When puting them back in freeze the caps first. This shrinks the cap slightly to maintain your interference fit. Yours is loose because wear from removal and installation. You can even heat the hub and freeze the cap to really maintain rigidity.

+LoveMTB Just tried the conversion of my 350 hubs. Back: no problem - after I realized the cassette should be removed first :-) (i thought I could just pull the endcap through the cassette - nope!). Front: no-go. Looks like there are versions of the 350 front hub that cannot be converted. Unfortunate, but since the back takes the most abuse, I'm ok - just need to return my conversion kit to the shop. Thanks again for the video.

Yeah, I thought I could convert to the 100mm/9mm RWS but the front was indeed not possible to modify. From their endcap pdf list I thought it was possible: www.dtswiss.com/Resources/Support/TECH-SPECS/End-cap-solution-front.pdf

I'm running stock axle on 17 giant trance 2 and it does not have a quick release on rear, only on front!? I have to use a 6mm hex.wonder if I can convert?

Hi cool video - I bought a wheelset that has a 12x148 rear axle (roval traverse 27.5), but my bike is a 141 qr in the rear. Do you know what kit / adapter would be needed to make the rear wheel work on my bike? Thank you!

I have a 24h HG hub, it's got 8 spokes on one side 16 on the other, could this hub be changed as I need it to suit a 15mm thru axle, it is qr at the moment. Thanks.

I do have some dt swiss wheels with thru axle, front 15x100mm and rear 10x135mm. If I buy wheels with 12x100mm and 12x142mm. Can I swap the hub caps?

Thanks for a great video. I still have a problem - hard to describe. I'm trying to convert my 240 rear hub from 142x12 (it was originally 135x12) to QR. I bought the end cap conversion kit. However, when trying to fit them, the drive side one just seems too short to apply pressure/reach the freehub body - so the freehub can move and disengage. Am I missing something? Should there be some kind of spacer or something?!? Any help or advice very gratefully received - and keep up the great videos! Tim

Seems like the QR end caps have some kind of beads to retain them in place, but the thru axle end caps are plain flat, which will not retain the cassette in place

LoveMTB I did the same conversion with my rear DT350 from QR to 142x12 TA. But the new end caps are not retaining the freehub in place. Any thoughts?

The problem I see is that when converting from a 5mm QR to a 12mm axle is that the frame and shocks won't accept the larger axle. I went and measured my MB frame and forks and the opening is 10.41mm or is 12mm not really 12mm?

Nono. The wheel hub is convertible, not your frame openings.

I have roval clx 40 hubs. they are two years old or maybe three. It seems the 12mm thru axel that is on my frame is exact same size as the axle in the clx 40. this means I need different size bearings also?
