Lookin good Frank. I wouldn't be too worried about the grease plugging the holes. The oil will push that through pretty quick. I've never seen the hammer tap done before, interesting. Keep smilin

Nice job Most diesel and industrial crank shafts are "tuftrided" ( case hardened layer on journal wear surfaces. And if and when crank is ground undersize often this layer is removed exposing a softer wear surface. Something to ask about if crank shaft grinder shop can re harden wear surfaces. Nice job you do. Yes good point! The IH engine manual has the specs on the crankshaft hardness. It says that .020 in” or less crank shouldn’t need to be hardened. Thanks for watching!
