So this is basically the process when replacing injector seals? I was gonna ask if thats the gasket I needed with the wires coming off. Didnt want to order the wrong one

Excellent video, thank you!. Do you think that it’s possible that too much boost can blow this gasket and cause oil to leak into the intake port and burn oil? I think that is what is happening with my bus.

Joe Drnec these particular engines issues are crankcase breathers. They cause oil to flow through charge air cooler and feeds into engine through turbo. A subscriber commented and we looked into it. It just so happens he was right. Looking into updating crank case breathers on these maxxforce engines. Let me know what engine you have so I can try and point you in the right direction

Joe’s Bus Barn I have a 1996 mechanical DT466 with the valve cover gasket that is also the intake gasket. I believe oil is leaking into the intake and causing it to blow a lot of grey/blue smoke. Smoke goes away however when the turbo spools, and the compression checks good, the valves are dry, it is a low mileage engine. The turbo was removed and tested, it has no seal leaks and is within spec. My suspicion is that boost ruptured the gasket between the intake port and the valvetrain and is now taking oil into the intake at idle but once boost is added it pushes it out

Joe Drnec Gasket itself is made to wristband pressure (turbo) but yes. I have work on very few mechanical dt’s. The ones I did. The gaskets were worn and oil was sleeping through. When ur turbo spoils at higher rpms. Pressure builds up on ur intake side and allows less oil to seep through. I think your diagnostic is correct. That’s where I would start.
