The Seven-Year Tribulation: Who Goes Through It & Why?
1. Israel because it is the time of Jacob’s troubles.
Jeremiah 30:7 (NKJV) Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it. It is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved from it. [Note also Jeremiah 31].
2. The whole world.
Daniel 7:23 (NKJV) “Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces.
Luke 21:35 (NKJV) For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Revelation 13:7 (NKJV) It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
Who Can be Saved During the Tribulation & How?
1. Anyone who calls on the Lord
Joel 2:32
And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As the LORD has said,
Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.
Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
2. Those who receive the love of truth
2 Thessalonians 2:10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
3. Those who are not deceived and do not take the mark of the Beast.
Revelation 14:9-11 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
What Lessons can Believers Today get from the Tribulation Coming?
1. The best preparation for the Tribulation is what I call Christ's Tribulation Survival Guide, which He taught in Luke 21.
Pre-Tribulation Survival Tips
Jesus gave us these words before the end of days before the tribulation arrived.
So, Luke 21 is a “Pre-Tribulation” Survival Guide. Whatever your view of the Tribulation: pre-, post, or not at all, this passage has powerful lessons for all believers. Don’t miss His great lessons because of a theologically different view of eschatology.
In Luke 21 we see the end of everyone’s life as it was. Time stops. Life ends. Nothing is the same again. Christ's Coming simply reveals what people have been all the time. Paul tells us later that "each man's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it" (1 Corinthians 3:13).
So either the Rapture, or our own death, or the Second Coming of Christ and the Tribulation that precedes it, will end life comfortably going on as we know it.
The dangers Jesus warned of are what His church has faced from the beginning. There have always been deceiving teachers, persecution, and disasters. But what He says is that each of these areas will increase and intensify as Christ's Coming draws near.

I actually admire those people who have already refused to get things that they think could be the mark of the beast. Those people are actually in better position than those who have moved with the times because they have already learned to live without the comforts/ conveniences that those other “marks” provide

Whatever it is, it'll be clear beyond doubt. No one will 'accidentally' accept the mark. God does not deceive. And you cannot be held accountable for accepting something you didn't know was bad (both Eve AND Adam knew that eating of the apple of the tree of knowledge, for example, was bad and would have eternal consequences).

John, I'd be grateful if very soon you could present the full argument for mid-Trib and post-Trib rapture as though you were defending them, and only THEN refute them. I'm a pre-Tribber, but just yesterday on Tucker Carlson's show I heard an argument for the other view and for how Schofield's view (I've had a Schofield study bible for at least a solid decade) became hard doctrine a century ago apparently without anyone substantively challenging it; I've got to admit that it stirred some thought. But I'll also mention that while Tucker's guest (musician John Rich) read from 2 Thes 2, he did not read and explain the timing of it all in light of 1 Thes 4:17. I.e., if we get caught up in the clouds with Christ, but according to their view that doesn't happen until "the man of lawlessness" is revealed, etc, he failed to also explain his view of the relative chronology/the order of how everything plays out with getting "caught up in the clouds." Your seasoned wisdom anchored in the Word would be especially useful these days.

@applepie2775 I watched that, too, and have to admit John Rich threw me for a loop AT FIRST, but then it immediately hit me (through discernment of the Holy Spirit, I believe) the John Rich's interpretation of that time was really off, AND he kept attributing things that are happening specifically for the Jewish people to be saved, like it was for ALL of us. And after much prayer and continued study, realized what John Rich said in that interview was wrong. I watched a video from Amir Tsafarti with "Behold Israel" channel on KZbin, called "The Restrainer", and he explains it perfectly. I would suggest you look it up in the meantime. I don't believe what John Rich said about Darby and Scofield "writing in" the rapture part, into the Bible. There are too many massages that refer to the capturing away, and something over the years would have gotten in the cross hairs, and would have contradicted itself. I believe that John Rich believes in covenant theology, but doesn't know it. Lol. His theology is very messed up. I pray for him, and all who are confused about the end times. Thank the Lord we have pastors like John Barnett, John MacArthur, Amir Tsafarti, and others who are correct in their interpretation of he biblical end times.

@@musiclady8621 Thanks for your thoughts, brother. I agree, and I suspect you're correct about the possibility that John Rich is a covenantalist. I also noticed that Rich didn't know that the word "rapture" does come from the Vulgate translation; he made it sound like the word simply got made up with no basis. I'm still hoping that John B will do as I have asked and not merely say "they're wrong and I'm right, and here check out another Bible expert's video and he'll explain it better," but to first--as I've requested--to clearly and fully lay out their position and THEN refute it. I guess I'll need to keep asking. You mention MacArthur; I'm closer to that world than you'd have any reason to know. I also know that a panel of John MacArthur's seminary cadre and church staff recently convened to hear one of their sem students defend the mid-Trib view, after which they still approved him as a missionary. They were apparently not as dogmatic about it as we'd have expected. So, apparently this isn't quite as black and white as you (and I) would like to think it is. I have come to think very highly of John Barnett (I didn't know he existed a few months ago) and I'd very much appreciate it if he'd take me up on my request. Doctor John? Johnny B?? What say you?

As long as the verses (text) are there, it is not crucial if there are a few differences in chapter divisions, etc. Our O.T. has 39 books...the Hebrew from Jesus's day had either 22 or 24...but all the OT writings were included, just different combinations. Can you lead to the verse which clearly states hat there will be a 7 year tribulation? Secondly, can you lead me to the chapter and verse which clearly states that the body of Christ is removed from the Earth before the Lord Jesus Christ returns to gather the elect ‘AFTER the tribulation of those days’ as stated in Matthew c24 v29-31. I think you may have been listening to too many false prophecies, more specifically, Margaret Macdonalds false prophecy regarding the ‘secret rapture’ given in 1830 given in Samuel Irving Plymouth Brethren church. Add this to the false view of Daniels 70 weeks with a ‘future’ antichrist to come which is actually a Jesuit view given in 1593 by a guy called Ribera to take away attention from the papal seat from the Christian reformers, and you have this false view stated in this video.

I have a question for DR. Barnett-or for anyone who cares to respond. Are Tribulation believers required to be "super saints"...resisting the mark even unto death? What if a believer, under extreme duress...takes the mark, trying to physically survive? That believer would NOT be actually worshipping the anti-christ. I believe in OSAS, from Adam and Eve through the Church age. If a Tribulation believer did submit to the mark, and fall from God's grace....that would mean two different plans of salvation are being taught in scripture. Can someone explain? You have to worship/pledge your allegiance to get the mark. If you refuse to worship the beast then you don't get the mark. It's basically a do or die moment so it will be by duress so to speak but it's preferable to die and go to Heaven then take the mark, go through the Tribulation, and then go to Hell. That's not to say there won't be people that survive without the mark. I know the Jews in the caves will but for everyone else it doesn't really speak on the matter. I think people will survive but they will have a very difficult time of it (understatement for sure). I don't think there is any going back from taking the mark either. From what I've read and studied it's pretty clear cut.

@@jeffc5474 once again, I’m not going to get into a massive debate by thumbs where I can’t actually take the time to explain. If you or anyone else who didn’t find themselves to be so self righteous, or mocking with laughing emoji’s or name calling actually wanted to get off your perches and try to educate yourselves instead of continue to fill your minds and hearts with the same mis interpretation of scripture as I once did, then you would simply take the time to do so . Zech14:4 was fulfilled . Jesus feet touched the mount of Olives and you might well read in the Gospel that when he was crucified, there was a great earth quake splitting that very mountian and creating a valley . Do a little geography and history research to make sure the bible is actually accurate, as I’m pointing out, it is. Now, there is much more envolved with this from a spiritual perspective that has to do with Jews and gentiles/ etc. scripture states wisdom is found in the multitude of many. I simple pointed out that maybe you’d be wise to challenge what you’ve been taught , not to discredit scripture, but to prove it . Once again, a great commentary has been done by EUSEBIUS quite some time ago on this topic . Gary Demac touches briefly on it via The American Vision. I won’t continue to make my thumbs numb by texting replies though to swine and dogs( since we’re into acting like we’re far superior in intelligence to me ) and have taken upon name calling . By the way, I grew up well versed with all this pastor’s ideology. While your at it google the series “ what the bible teaches” that’s the brethren I grew up with that taught me daily about “ Gods Word”. The point being, im well studied with your perspective and have been for decades. I know, any-day now your getting raptured off the earth for seven years. I’m just simply saying you might want to take the advice of scripture and get some others perspective that don’t exactly line up with yours . Hard to prove you’re the fastest man on earth if you only challenge all the same runners that agree with you and compete at your school. Oh, and I agree with you on one thing, God says all men( humans) are liars so yes, that includes me. However , as far as the current topic being discussed, no, I’m not being one, nor am I being deceived or deceiving others and absolutely am more then willing to stand before a just and Holy Creator and hold myself accountable to such claims.
