DTF Hack Using Regular Ink Jet Printer

I tried the DTF hack using regular ink jet printer (not my sublimation printer)
Heat: 320 for 20 seconds
Coat fully with DTF Powder
Cure the powder under heat until the powder look turns to a gel look
Peel when cooled
I always use Yamation DTF film and powder

Inkjets are little bit the same as regular DTF printer. Inkjet use CYMK ink while DTF use CYMK+W ink. The adhesive (rubber) that makes the print feel sticky.

Your original printing looks like you didn't reverse your image but now it's reverse. Did i miss something?

Not this printer because this was just regular ink jet ink. My other epson I put sublimation ink in it and I have been using that one for 4 years with no issues

I have gozey premium DTF transfer film but when I tryed doing it with my inkjet printer and I pressed it on it did not work

Mine worked fine. It’s just not as vibrant or permanent as when I print it on my sublimation printer.

This design is retro and supposed to look like that. I ordinarily would have printed with my sublimation printer but wanted to try the hack of printing with regular ink jet I wouldn’t recommend it. Only if using the shirt for a onetime wear

No, In this video I used ink jet. With DTF paper. (I would recommend this as temporary not to sell) see other video I used my sublimation printer with DTF paper it works great and is long lasting

I use Yamation DTF paper. Best quality setting Matte finish amzn.to/4byRjpa and Yamation DTF powder

I washed it yesterday and didn’t lose any color. I will post a picture later. I plan to do several washes Not sure if I would use for selling shirts but for family and friends I think it’s great! If selling I would use the sublimation ink HTV hack.

Would the white color of the image on the transfer paper show on the darker shirt, especially black? Because the inkjet printer does not use white ink, Also, how does it hold after washing it several times?

No, it will not show up white and in general not on a dark shirt. It does not hold up with washing when using regular ink jet printer It does hold up when you print it using a sublimation printer but still must be on a light colored shirt

Then what is the point of doing all this? Nothing holds , nothing stays on it washes off nothing shows on dark shirts? If you don’t have a professional DTS printer engineered to do this all these hacks are pointless, Appreciate you doing the test though

Hi, are you asking about the powder? If so you cover your printed area with it. You should do this as soon as you print so that the ink is still wet.

I hovered my heat press but just don’t touch the image with it Just hover until the powder melts Takes about 2 minutes Sometimes I use my heat gun

At this point you can not use it on dark shirts because you are using sublimation ink. To use the DTF hack on dark shirts you will need to press it on white heat transfer vinyl or Easy Subli. HTV Ront also has a clear htv

But if you are using the HTVRONT clear HTV you still have to put white HTV first; then the clear, then the DTF. Starts to add up price-wise

Hey, so for this one I used regular ink jet ink and would be fine for a shirt you are only going to wear once or twice like a birthday. I have another video that I use sublimation ink and that is fine and stays on well

@@nekoschwan it’s just regular printer ink. I printed it on DTF film but used the regular ink in my Epson printer for this. The same ink I print on paper with. ( it is not DTF ink or sublimation) its regular ink jet printer ink
