I'm not convinced Jinjer is the best thing to happen to metal in years but at least I'm still having fun.

The fans do this band no favors imo. They are better than they get credit for, but at the same time get hyped up in the wrong way for the wrong reasons. Very impressive musicians, especially Vlad.

I've loved these last few Jinjer albums. Unique, emotional and quite intense with incredible musicianship.

To understand Jinjer ( very impressive musicians, as "MetalTrenches" already mentioned) you need time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and most people don't have that anymore when it comes to "consuming" good music. greetings from the german musician

I genuinely enjoyed Macro and Wallflowers had a few good songs, but it didn't have that same impact that Macro did. I will say I enjoyed Duél quite a bit, cliches not withstanding it is a fun record. It may not be groundbreaking, but it's enjoyable, and I will die on this hill, but Jinjer is the band Spiritbox wishes they were.

I consider myself a Jinjer fan, and my favorite of theirs is 2016's King of Everything, but I wholeheartedly agree that Jinjer isn't as genius as some fans think. This new album is more of what I already quite enjoy from them, but I won't be trying to argue with whoever doesn't find it the best thing ever because it isn't the best thing ever. I quite liked Duel, but if you didn't already enjoy Jinjer beforehand, this album probably won't do anything the others already didn't do.

I've never warmed up to Jinjer...from my view, they seem light on the substance...

Being a Jinjer fan I would give this record 4/5, buuuuut I think you're right saying they're playing it safe... I too would love to see them take more risks, I don't know, like incorporating more jazz into their sound or something. Open even more. Still, they are one of the very few bands which you can recognise just after a few seconds, which is a big plus in my opinion. Btw Roman seems to me to be one of the most underrated guitarists out there; a master of self-control: never heard one unnecessary note from him.

I think jazz would be cool, or maybe go more melo death or go full blown tech death.

I like the band allot. Saw them live twice and met them with their VIP meet and greet. They are fantastic live. I personally think Macro is their best album with Duel being their 2nd best. Wallflowers I found wasn't as dynamic as Macro. Tatiana is definitely one of my favorite metal vocalists, probably after Simone Simons from Epica.

@ you should check out the new singer they have for Vintersea Kayla Dixon. She’s very similar. Her screaming vocals are like Tatiana but her cleans are soulful like oceans of slumber. They are prog/melodic death metal.

Haven't loved everything this band has put out, but genuinely i think tatiana is one of the best metal vocalists of the modern era.

I loved Wallflowers, and King of Everything. But im actually feeling mixed on this one so far. Not bad, just blends together too much for me. So I’m with you on this one but also feeling a little underwhelmed

I feel like this weekend is too packed with new music for me to care about listening to this record. Unreqvited and Saor made bangers, I'll listen to those instead.

They have the one big reaction song that's REALLY good, and then everything else they've done hasn't been on that level for me. Hearing that one first as an introduction to them had my expectations high. Kind of unfortunate.

i have and like Wallflower but I'm not a huge fan in general. I don't need to own all the others. when a song comes out I listen and enjoy but there's no repeat listens.

I think Macro is their best work and I hated Wallflowers. There's maybe one or two songs I enjoy from that album. While Duel is definitely an improvement from Wallflowers, there are a few songs I would skip. Overall I still think it's one of their best albums.

Unpopular opinion : I can’t listen to their albums because of the piccolo snare drum sound. I just can’t stand it for this kind of Music.

Well, I'm all ears, man. Go ahead, show me better bands with a similar vibe & sound, both raw & aggressive while progressive & melodic, and that do it better than them. I am genuinely interested.
