Why all the negativity? “Nothing original...., don’t do this...” I mean really? Dua is eloquently and elegantly speaking of her experience in the music industry, her ideas of reform, and thoughtful & considerate opinions. For an hour. Something to note is how collected she is in this interview. Often in interviews that revolve around conflicting topics, artists can be very mouthy and aggressive. Not Dua. She doesn’t sound superficial. The realness she brings make her such a great conversationalist and role model. Before commenting on someone else’s opinions and words that cover incredibly relevant topics, ask yourself if you would be able to do the same in such a polite and classy way.

Breaking my silence to say this; Dua, you did an absolutely smashing job addressing the issue while dealing with the restrictions at hand. This is a great example of thinking outside of the box from within the box. I commend your humanity and strength and encourage you to continue utilizing your power to enhance your freedom of self. I look forward to your progress and your increased efficacy as a result of your success.

@@thesouluniversal okay dude, i used to think a bit like this, but its not really about who the big figureheads are, the majority of the people with actual power in music are rich white men and thats just a fact, take it how you will. that leads to a very narrow minded business outlook due to the fact that these execs tend to be really boring in which i think makes a lot of pop samey. actually diversifying the people running the show won't completely fix pop music because corporate execs will always be corporate execs but it will allow at least soe diversivication of culture and experience

music producers are 47 to 1, male to female, according to what you've said. Music producer is not a job that is handed out. It's a personal choice that a person makes as to whether they want to pursue that. So why do more men want to be music producers. Ask yourself that question. And why should there be any imperative to encourage women specifically to pursue that, especially if they don't want to. I would say, it's an idea to encourage anyone that wants to be a music producer to pursue that, regardless of their gender, but not because of their gender. The imbalance in the genders of music producers isn't down to any malicious intent on the part of men that want to safeguard the profession. It's just a reflection of pure chance. To see that as an imbalance is correct. But to see it as an injustice is ridiculous.

13:30... talking about getting bad reviews. The bad reviews are not reflection of your physicality or your group identity. They are a reflection of your inner self- your character or your soul. They may even be a response to your absolutely insane level of sexism towards men specifically, which is clearly issue that you need to try and address and work on.

11:20 'i think all the women in the room would agree that gender equality is something significant to shed light on'... Duas speech was evidence of exactly the kind of attitude that perpetuates gender inequality. And this response of assuming the opinions of other people in the room, based on the sharing of a group identity, is also incredibly reprehensible and naive. When you assume that someone else shares the same view as you, you are absolutely certain to be proven wrong, almost immediately. That really is a very poorly thought through statement.

12:40 'we' there is no we that you can refer to. You can refer to I, which is your personal sense of self. But you cannot refer to we, because you do not have the ability to accurately represent another persons feelings or opinions. This is an absolute impossibility. You may believe you can accurately represent another persons feelings and thoughts, but you cannot, because you are not that person. You can only ever claim to represent your own feelings and thoughts accurately. For anything that you possibly say that claims to represent another persons feelings or thoughts, there will always be evidence from the individual referred to, that will prove otherwise.

At least in the western world, women can do whetever they want with noone judging them. I do agree that 100 years ago there was a discrimination between men and women BUT IT DOESNT EXIST anymore, apart from minor cases. Btw most of the times its women who are judging other women. I really do have a number of female friends who told me that they dont want to hang out with other females and they prefer to go, for example, for a coffee with male company.
