It's unbelievable to me that this channel only has 27K subscribers. What a warm, thoughtful exchange between two luminaries from different artistic fields. Well done.

It's because Dua doesn't appeal to the lowest common denominator . We are still in the midst of democracy in the United States So if you look at the top podcast for example it's mainly Meat heads😂. Better to have 26000 or what have you, Intelligent people With open minds, Then a million people who are only interested in salacious gossip etc

That should say idiocracy Not democracy

This was about as good as an interview can get. Both parties interested in each other. Well done you two.

Wow. I gotta thank the Algorithm for this one. The expression of Dua Lip's face throughout this exchange should be all the inspiration any novice writer needs to work like hell to do good work. Simply dreamy, people. Many thanks.

Two lovely, deep souls - Saunders & Lipa - talking story notes, a music of narrative, how life is not about the art, it is the art. If they go on tour together, I'm buying a ticket:)

This is one of the best author interviews I have ever seen. There is a genuine chemistry between the two which allows George to be open and vulnerable in a way that feels very generous to the audience. Dua creates this atmosphere through a genuine feeling of admiration and appreciation for the subject. You can tell that she is a real fan of the author and his work. She knows the material and asks very insightful questions. George really seems to have a very generous spirit and an interest in Dua as an artist herself. This was such an enjoyable interview on many levels. Partly it was the conversation about the book but just as enjoyable was watching how they really seemed to enjoy each other as intelligent and interesting people. Cheers to you both!! 👏📚

Thank you dua lipa for another beautiful episode, thanks to George Saunders for his work it was interesting ( i like the part when you both started reading nice idea + i like how you always bring back your interviewee to talk about characters, nice host skills ) oh and what a question he gave at the end "not a baby question" at ALL. He was this close to ask for a tutorial on "how to make a song" 😂😂. In conversation indeed.

No way! I read 2 of Saunders' stories (CivirWarLand and Semplica Girls) for a University course and enjoyed them immensely and never would I have guessed I would be able to watch him in an interview with Dua, like what

What a great conversation! I read Lincoln in the Bardo earlier this year and it was such a unique and memorable experience. Dua Lipa was an excellent host here. I didn't know she's a book enthusiast. Subscribed and can't wait to watch more 😊

I love that Dua doesn't see the need to make herself up for these interviews. She looks SO BEAUTIFUL au naturel!

Do not really listen to Dua Lipa (not from any prejudgement on it's quality just not in my wheelhouse as an elder millennial cis male soy boy) but this made me really like her. Seems like she really deep as a person. The prose of Lincoln in the Bardo is absolutely stunning. "“He came out of nothingness, took form, was loved, was always bound to return to nothingness. Only I did not think it would be so soon. Or that he would precede us. Two passing temporarinesses developed feelings for one another. Two puffs of smoke became mutually fond. I mistook him for a solidity, and now must pay. " Also the audiobook is terrific if the form of the novel is difficult for you. Has a terrific cast.
