I was looking online for A dual motor ebike with a step through frame thinking that this might be suitable for towing my camper on my cyclotouring trips. Here’s what I found and my conclusion.

Hello my friend, that's a fantastic review. Great job. I own a fabulous ebike. The folding Havoc xtreme with a single 1000watt motor. I absolutely love it. The fat tires are amazing as you can travel on any terrain. Also the 20mah batteries give you great range. I wish you the best of luck in your search. Pls don't ever get a bike with a battery that is less than 20mah. Or you will be disappointed in the Lack of range. Fabulous also has a 30mah upgrade for my bike which I will be picking up next summer 😊

I agree. You can never have too much battery, unless a 10 km ride is a long ride for you.

I think that finding just the right ebike is getting even harder as the market and supply grows. Good luck with your search Robert! BTW, I should have my own cobbled together camper trailer on the road for a first test this week.

Hi Robert, I registered to your channel because I really enjoyed your very well done content. Years ago, I did a lot of road biking till two blood clots in my right leg left me barely able to walk let alone bike. This spring, I decided to get an ebike to make up for the lost of the strength in my leg. I insist in peddling to the best of my ability and use the motor for hills to strenghten my right leg. The difference in my leg strength is amazing.... My first ebike is an iGo Core elite 3D and am pleased with the bike averaging 250km weekly at 77years old, when the weather permits turning over 1,000km in the last 4 months. As a licence mechanic, I want to get much more info from my monitor such as battery voltage and wattage used by the motor. I would like a better monitor with as well as more motor power as I often ride on highways and hilly roadways. I am able to do the upgrade to my ebike myself with the needed parts but because of the poor after-sale service and having a monitor with special cabling connections and a proprietary controler and motor, this limits any upgrading to buying needed parts from them at very high price if they even bother to carry them. The alternative is to buy a complete ebike kit. The better alternative is to buy a new ebike with components I would like. I am considering buying a Fabulous Trail Sport Z750 ebike for my second ebike, but they have their own (Adrenalized) motor brand really seems like much the same game in a few years when I need parts. Fabulous does have better after sale reviews then iGo also from Montreal. Does anyone have any after sales experience with Fabulous? Thanks Robert and keep up they great videos Jean-Pierre (JP)

Nice to see that you're taking your health matters in your own hands and that you're getting results. My impression is the ebike industry is in a state of near-chaos, with everybody and his uncle starting up an ebike manufacturing company. Consequently, many will drop out of the market leaving their customers high and dry when it comes to getting parts for their obsolete ebike. Many people have successfully built their own with a kit. But if you go with Grin Technologies as I did, you need to be an engineer with specialized knowledge of motors. It was a disaster for me.

Jean-Pierre

What a bike shop. Oh for something like that anywhere in Tasmania. Unfortunately our small population means we have to go interstate (Sydney or Melbourne) to find interesting and different e-bikes. I am proceeding with my build of the Beriault Trailer but am using a square front on the hood rather than the curved laminated job. Sorry - it won't look so good but fits with what materials and skills I have!

I wouldn't worry too much about the shape of the bow. She'll be just as roadworthy, and she'll be much easier to build.

I will throw a thought your way. Try looking at the Lectric XP-trike. It is a three wheeler folding E-trike. I bought one for my Wife and it is a power house. It will climb any hill better then my Yukon 750 Voltbike. It has a low step through and good range. Just a thought.

Trikes have several advantages over bikes. Thanks for your input.

@@RobertBeriault753 Another couple of point on the Lectric XP. It has a hard point for a trailer hitch on the frame, perfect for your trailer. With the baskets it carries a lot of gear. With the backed seat with suspension post it is a very comfortable ride over long distance, I have gone 25 miles at a stretch with no issue. Now the two down sides. It is a single speed trike this is not an issue at low peddle assist but on the higher end you are just windmilling. It is slow, 13.6 mph at best. Now it will do 13.6 mph up hill hauling 300+ pounds. That being said if you are in a hurry its speed will be an issue.

Hey Robert was wondering when we would hear from you... And there you are... Doing a little window shop in nice restraint... I do like having a bike on the lighter side and with larger radius Wheels for rollover and I do enjoy having the flat free solid tires confidence for longer trips

@@RobertBeriault753 Tannus... is the company I ended up going with... Unfortunately they're not making them in all sizes yet... And they are a wrestling match to put them on is an understatement... took me hours to get the first one on the rim... And I needed a couple of days off before doing the second one LOL.. although they don't bounce like a regular tire... They are really cool... Although you could definitely fix a lot of flats, pump a lot of tires, for the effort that goes into mounting them... It is an investment in future peace of mind.. I've got them front and rear on my main bicycle and on the rear wheel of another one... They don't make them in 29... Then you're looking at Armor that surrounds the tube? That looks kind of fiddly... haven't gone there yet... it's disconcerting to have tubes that delaminate at the valve stem excetera I don't remember any of that from my youth... but that's what the Slime tubes have been doing fairly consistently

I have the × 2 step absolutely love it so 1st off all fabulous service is top notch. As far as it being 750 motor they you can limit them to 500 watt if you're worried about laws I ride mine every where nobody says anything. As far as wieght one thing you can do is remove battery when loading it makes a difference. As far as range I don't know what kind of miles you plan on riding but they sell 30 amp battery's I have two I carry a spare and peddle assistant 5 Goin up steep hills I can get 100 km range now if you're on peddle assistant 2or 3 you will increase that range alot more properly couple hundred kms . And you would only want to use 2nd motor on hills .fat tires are only way to go far as iam concerned they are punture resistant. You could carry a can of flat tire inflatable . And easy way of fixing flat is to leave tire on bike let out the air mark where the hole is break the tire clear of rim and pull the tube out fix put back in air up really easy no need to repair unless it's really bad .and great thing about the mag rims you don't have to worry about breaking a thin spoke .any way hopefully this info helps its a amazing bike and far as wieght ask yourself how many times will you be lifting it and maybe you will have help doing so but I don't wieght a is as far as riding it and fat tires don't slow me down I feel safer with them good luck and reconsider 😊

I bought a fabulous e-bike x2 havoc step through last year. After 3 months the brakes started to squeal and screech. I cleaned the brakes and rotors with a degreaser. They were fine for a couple of rides and then they started to squeal again. I changed the brake pads. Same thing. I brought it to the store and Lampro decided to check age again the brake pads and the rotor. Same problem. I was wondering if you experienced the same problem.

Sorry you're having problems with your new ebike. I only rode the bike 25 km, so it's not a good test for the durability of the brakes.

I Robert. I rented a fat tire bike in Niagara Falls and as much as I enjoyed the ride, I found that the tread on those fat tires is noisy on paved trials. Furthermore, I am not sure exactly sure how it works, but the legal limit on an e-bike in Ontario is an electric motor not exceeding 500 watts. I do see a lot of people riding e-bikes that are way over the 500w limit. At this point, laws are not being enforced, but that could change.

A number of ebike sellers sell bikes with motors above 500 Watts, they just limit the speed in the settings which then makes them street legal. If a customer wants to change those settings for "off road" use, that's up to them.

Great review. The only thing that you did not mention is that the store is actually located in Laval not Montreal. Big difference if you are in Montreal & trying to go there. I'm just saying.

You're right. I thought it was just a technicality. But if you're from Laval, maybe you don't want to be confused with a Montrealer?

@@RobertBeriault753 No. It's just because if I'm in Montreal going to the Fabulous E-bike store & you say Montreal but I take the bus in Montreal to go there but I have to transfer buses & it gets really complicated if it's not precise. I'm in Montreal & after seeing your KZbin video I went to go see the E- bikes for myself.
