Dual Nationals: Switching from One Passport to Another?

Thai wife uses US passport when traveling except in Thailand and other SE Asia countries where she switches to her Thai passport. So far no issues.

You need your Western passport at the airline check ins and your home country's customs, but you need your Thai passport at Thai customs. Otherwise you will be bound by the 30 day visa free rules.

My sons British passport has ran out but he has a Thai passport can he travel on the Thai passport or does both passports have to be in date??? Traveling from Thailand to Taiwan

I have a British passport and a Australian passport. pre COVID I only had British passport and the last time I went to Thailand I was lucky to get in as I'd been in Thailand so many days in the past year. I was hoping to use different passports to avoid this problem in the future.

@D L hi! Did you switch passports to be able to stay more in the country? For example, in Thailand they say you can get only 2-3 visa on arrival stamps per year. I wonder if they will consider it an abuse and deny you entry into the country if you switch passports after the second stamp? After all, they have our finger prints, but I’m not sure if the immigration sees all our visa records by the fingerprints.

I have to leave South Africa on my South African passport, I want to enter Thailand on my British passport. Will this be a problem?
