Would just look great with 3 separate tube steel stepping platforms , with the one on the bed crafted into the existing finder step . The more trick you make thing's the more to go wrong . On the finder extensions // craft a molded rubber mud flap that will match the rear ones . They can be replaced without the worry of bent metal from a medium size rock fling .

Not all one ton rear axles are longer than a three quarter ton axle. A good friend of mine had a late 70s one ton duallly square body chevrolet truck a few years ago without the fiberglass dually fenders bolted to the bedsides, instead the inner fenders were 2X as wide as normal and the dual wheels did not stick out passed the bedsides. It was all original.
