Anybody whos been in Dublin 10 minutes sees this side to it. The city was Europes poorest city for two centuries, a bombed out Belfast during the 1970's and 80's was still far richer than Dublin. It would take decades to make it look nice all over.

That's bollox the gardai were and still are understaffed these fellas had no other choice but to step forward luckily for them back then there wasnt a cartel sending drugs and guns to ireland to young lads who dont give a fuck and are wearing Gucci this and Louis Vuitton that every day they wear rolexs drive the best cars live in flash houses and why is there no vigilantes now simply because their whole family could be killed by some bloke that's been giving 20-30k or let off a drug debt or forced to do it because he owes money I was asked to petrol bomb a house for a kilo of weed before because the guy poured nitro mors on a car and damaged the paint I was asked to retaliate and I said no its completely different now 20 years ago you wouldn't be possibly getting burnt to death for damaging paint on a car you would have gotten a few slaps now if a big dealer doesn't like someone they can either put a hit on him or tell another dealer that hes a rat or hes trying to get you whacked and he will be dead because a psychotic coke sniffing drug dealer will not hesitate he will just say get rid of him and it will be done so that is why there is no more vigilantes and they didn't make it worse sure Christy Dunne has a famous quote and that is "if you think we are bad, wait till you see what's coming behind us" it was obvious its evolution of crime and unfortunately for us it's evolving a lot quicker than the evolution of policing
@Doco093 жыл бұрын
that's nonsense, the lack of gun crime was due to the IRA being active and them not allowing criminals to take over. As soon as the IRA went on ceasefire the gun crime exploded as there was nobody to stop the criminals. It would seem that Dublin's drug problem has social roots, namely unemployment. While the vigilante efforts are admirable, killing the dealers who are supplying a demand is not the solution. Only by focusing on whatever is making the population seek out drugs in the first place, can they help the symptoms of the underlying cause; an ill society.

@nuttybollockz Are you actually saying that you get harassed by someone if you don't buy drugs from them? Is it really to the point that you're walking down the street and people ask you if you want to buy drugs and if you say no you get beaten? If they're willing to beat people, why would they ever sell drugs? Why not just save the money they would spend on drugs and just rob people?
