Agree completely, it was a low blow, and, on top of that, Dubois - not for the first time - deliberately quit by staying on his knee to the count of 9. Not holding that against him, it's his body and life after all, but to claim he was robbed and that Usyk is a cheat was ridiculous and bad sportsmanship.

Wasn't sure when watching live but when they reviewed it, everything pointed to it being a low blow and was surprised so many thought it was controversial. The speed of Usyk's reaction to the shot was a big tell (body shots usually go into full effect a second after when you breathe in), but in the slow-mo replay you can see the punch initially make contact with the cup in his shorts. I've been hit with glancing blows on the cup before that have rattled my balls; I can only imagine how it could feel coming from a heavyweight whose power is a big aspect of their boxing.

Main point - the naval is always the point of reference. Anything under is deemed as `low blow` in boxing and as WBA rules state. WBA official rule: 2. LOW BLOW/HITTING BELOW THE BELT It is critical to know that the waistline is defined as the imaginary horizontal line *through the navel* to the TOP of the hips Before i expound please keep in mind that Usyk`s band is not flush. The middle/lower part of the band is tight whilst the upper most band sticks outward somewhat kind-of appearing at a angle. Usyk and Dubois wore totally different bands/protectors. Dubois was also notably thicker higher and more flush. The top of Usyk`s band, in particular, not being flush will add to the basic effect i am about to explain. *Various movements Usyk makes his band will appear slightly higher or lower depending on his body position (along with the band not being flush)* *Thus his naval will appear in and out of view depending on his position* If Usyk clenches up or bends down to some extent or if his legs/knee are raised somewhat etc - in these kind of instances his band will appear to now cover his naval. As it actually does at times. Conversely if Usyk stands straight or upright, especially if he leans backward somewhat the opposite effect happens resulting in his naval to become easily seen. As it actually does at times. There is perfect footage of what i have just explained during the fight replay. We see this effect several times especially if we watch Usyk walk around the ring and moves his body in different positions just before the ref commences the fight after the low blow during round 5. Everyone needs to watch this and focus on Usyk`s naval area and waist band. Trying to determine Usyk`s naval position in any kind of askew or clenching stance(especially side views) as some individuals are trying to do will easily result in flawed judgment or conjecture. This explanation makes total sense, and is also easily demonstrable, as to why we sometimes see it covered and sometimes not. That`s how simple it really is. Watching the fight again (carefully) especially in HQ on a good screen focusing on Usyk`s mid/low section it is very very easy to see everything i have described. Furthermore i have now found 15 different images of Usyk from that night, as more and more people are posting, where we can clearly see his naval above the band. Sure it was close (especially at first view) upon further investigation the ref technically and clearly made the correct call. The shot was indeed low no doubt about it. Dubois was hitting low all night even lower than the punch in question which is why Usyk was complaining! They know the truth and they know exactly what they are doing. Shame on Frank and team Dubois.

Only reason we are having these pointless conversations is because we are not seeing the champs fighting each other, instead doing these pointless exhibitions where there is no change for the reigning champion to fall. Only match that matters in the HW right now os Usky vs Fury. But since this is not happening, well, the boxers and boxing fans are the boggest drama queens on earth and we just have to cook up some nonsense. Usyk is a fairly clean fighter because he can afford to be, he is just that skilled. He doesn’t need to ”rob” anybody’s victory, he can just take it fair and square. He is the most skilled fighter alive apart from Crawford, Bivol and perhaps Canello.

Study The speed of DDD’s arm recoiling back coupled with how quickly Usyk went down… it looked like a practiced punch ,quick stinging in and out the perfect way to hit that area… no need for follow through …DD knew this but got caught…. Great video Fran, when you think about how the pain hits - is a really good point. Think about when Hatton caught Castillo - there was a slight pause like you say and then the pain hit hard. Not to mention that it was placed right up and under the ribs. I think the confusion was from people thinking a low blow = balls. A shot that comes into contact with the groin in such a way as to impact the testicles is instantly felt. The brain registers this impact as serious with immediacy. The initial pain is horrible but it rapidly accelerates and the recipient begins to wonder when the pain will stop its ascent, a kind of fear sets in as a result. This brings me to the old adage, the old rule, "Keep it above the belt." Fran, a valid opinion such as yours is never useless.

There's nothing wrong with being a fan of a fighter, but boxing is also a 'rules based' sport and that for me is very important.

Rule of thumb is if a punch lands on the pants it is low. This is made apparent when at the start of every fight the ref will point the top of the shorts and inform the fighters that anything below this is low.

3 organs below the belt line is groin and bladder the guard covers these. The other organs are the kidneys. If it was just groin boxers would use jock straps. The shot was on the guard bladder height under the belt line. I have heard this week that the guard protects the hips what bull the hips are bone. One trainer didn't know where the solar plexus was. So just to help trainers out more the liver shot is on the right side. The spleen shot is on the left side and if bored of that try smashing the floating ribs. I learnt that in the 70s. What are these coaches teaching. Again it's not a groin guard that's called a jock strip. This piece of safety wear is for your groin and bladder and struck with a glove makes a different sound then hitting flesh.

It's not about who won the fight, but whether it was a low blow or not should it be called as one. Negligence and corruption are destroying boxing. Why would anyone watch boxing if every second fight ends in controversy?Fury- Wallin, Dubois vs Lerena... boxing is dying, mainly because most fights do not follow Simple Rules. It was a low blow. The only controversy is did Usyk make a meal of it? Dubois was, otherwise, completely outclassed. He is (in my humble opinion) too upright and lacks head movement, probably as a result of fighting too many easy opponents when learning his trade. This was Usyk's easiest fight as a heavyweight. I cannot imagine any paying customer wanting to see a rematch.

Not only the prohibited blow, but also the tactless and defiling behavior of the entire team... and furthermore, instead of apologizing to Usyk for what seems like an accidental blow and asking for a rematch, they accuse everyone and everything of their defeat. And the worst and most shameless part about them is that they cross every boundary and focus on highlighting racism among Polish whites, pointing to the referee as the one who took away Dubois' clever, calculated accidental victory due to skin color. They also emphasize the war in Ukraine, claiming political support to boost the spirits of the Ukrainian people in their war against Russian invasion.... That in my opinion was not a low blow. Watching the video slowed down he landed right on the wasteline portion of the trunks and he wears his shorts a bit high. It was not a hit to the groin when slowed down.

Plenty of times in the fight, his navel was showing. Stuff moves around. The shot was low. His shorts were lower than Dubois and Dubois had multiple warnings to keep his shots up. Exactly Fran! It's really that simple but Fury 🍆riders are making it complicated. *The waistline is defined as the imaginary horizontal line through the navel to the top of the hips.
