We would go across to the local pub most nights and 90's songs would be on the jukebox so we're talking Oasis, blur etc and I'd heard this on the radio and found it on the jukebox so this was one which I would often chose. The 1990s in Blighty were mad: There was a real anti-American snobbery, everyone was crazy about football even if they weren't really, everyone took drugs, you drank crazily, page-3 glamour girls were the ladies of choice, the Royal family looked endangered, people actually read books, and being a pseudo intellectual didn't get you ostracised. Thank God it is all over. Love this song, though. I wanted to marry the lead singer when I was a kid.
