That is such a good site! My dad used to race his Ducati 250 with CRMC, when there used to be a full grid of Ducati’s! I had no idea they were still around. (My dad’s Tim oliver btw, being a Ducati racer yourself it’s possible u may know him?) great vid!

Hi Hugo and thanks, it was my Brother who raced those Ducatis for a few seasons in BHR, I just tried to help look after them for the owner, but we went our separate ways after that. I don't know your Father, but might recognize his face if I saw him.

Congratulations, that engine runs really well, what preparation did you make? which cam do you use and which piston and connecting rod? i am doing some work on my scr 250 and i am eager to understand how it will be once finished. Thank you

Hi and thanks. I did not build or tune the engine in this machine, only helped with a bit of final setting up - carb etc, so I don't know much about what went on inside the engine, sorry.

There are all sorts of things you can do. Super high comp pistons, twin plug heads etc, but if you are not going to race it I would not bother. Possibly a more modern carb, If you are going to fit a slightly larger carb then it's worth getting the ports cleaned up. I would switch the scrambler camb for something like a green camshaft and make sure you have a proper forged conrod. I wouldn't bother to tune one of these little bikes till I knew the guts were rebuilt, so that would be where I would focus.

Hi you lot, any chance of explaining how you got such fantastic on board footage? what, when, how why and who type of thing? Terrific footage, cheers.

Easy - I sat on the back holding the camera !! Seriously, I will ask Ian what make of camera he uses, he fits it to the top yoke usually..

Nice vid. I assume it is the camera making the bike sound as though it has an awful misfire? Very good run though well done!!! Dave

Knowing that bike, it could well be a misfire !!

Mon Dieu, I really miss the sound of valve-springs at work...especially at full-song. What's that you say ? You don't believe that I can hear same ?...interesting.

If it has desmo drive there are no valve springs.

@@buttheyreinvestmentsdear3132 THAT, mon ami, was the crux of my comment. (They have no valve springs...and I miss hearing them.)
@paulhenshaw45143 жыл бұрын
@@amelierenoncule To be honest, I don't know for certain, but I think that Ducati had valve springs, I remember the owner saying lots of them got converted to springs once spring technology advanced.
