Sounds like Ducati finally got the big monster right with this model. With the new (and gorgeous) 899, they do seem to be putting out some fantastic bikes.

Why would you title the video Monster 1200, when you test the 1200 S ??

I can see your point but the video is a report from Ducati's launch of the Monster 1200, which as it happened involved riding only the S model. Most of the technology is the same for the standard and S versions, so hopefully the video will be of interest to someone considering the standard 1200. The video description says it's a test of the Monster 1200S so hopefully makes it clear.

More grunty, comfortable and refined than the 848; better brakes and electrics. Same v old bigger SF too really, as well as being better value. I like the Streetfighters but I reckon the 1200 makes more sense for most people

Two very good bikes. The S1000R has incredible all-round performance and sophistication for the money; the Ducati's perhaps not quite as exciting/extreme but for some its Monster/V-twin looks and character will be more important
