Ducati Monster Plus 937 Oil Change Maintenance | Step-by-Step for First Timer (Correction 3 bottle)

First time going through the oil change process for Ducati Monster Plus 937. Done plenty research and figured oil change should be cake. Well, it is not when I don't have the right tools and experience. This video will show the steps and tools, so every beginner or first timer like me can do the job quick and easy.

The check button gets of only with the ecu scan on the dealership that’s how you will still have your warranty and 3 bottles of oil full synthetic 15w-50 plus you check your oil level when you start the engine work it for 10-15min and then cool it for 10 min that’s what the manual says be careful Italians always differ from Japanese!

Couple folks corrected me : Only 3 bottles of engine oil are required, I made a mistake and said it 4 bottles in the video. From @stan5955 : 3.1L should be more than enough. Run your engine 10min then cool down for 10min, after that make sure your bike is standing straight then check the oil window. And you should lubricant the filter

Great how-to video. You may be the first to have shown the procedure step by step on KZbin for the 937. Did you notice any concern with the clutch/ shifting after using this oil as I don’t believe it is Jaso/MA2 rated? It would be awesome if you still had great performance with this more easily available oil. I’m doing my change next week and selected Liquimoly synthetic 15w-50 street bike oil that I ordered on Amazon for a great price. Thanks again for this vid

Thanks. I pumped another 300 miles after oil change, no issue with the clutch and shifting. It is not Jaso/MA2 rated, but I do recommend to all owners to use the Shell Advance 4T Ultra 15W -50 oil, which is what I had in description.

Easiest work around is to go into the menu and move it back 1year. The light shuts off. So for me it’s 2024 but my bike thinks it’s may 2023 resetting the 1 years service reminder

Guys i have a question. I change oil yesterday but i unscrew this bigger screw ( imbus 12). Motocycle was on 2 stands and i put only 2.7L oil to midpoint on oil window. Its normal?

Did you change the oil filter too? Or you didn’t? That could be the reason?

Dude you put too much oil in. 3.1L should be more than enough. Run your engine 10min then cool down for 10min, after that make sure your bike is standing straight then check the oil window. And you should lubricant the filter

I thought 4L was too much, but Ducati service manual indicates to add oil if the oil level is below the middle line between the MIN and MAX marks. "Add oil until reaching the maximum level indication." So I added all 4 bottles to meet that level. I will try your suggestion next time, thanks. And yes, I didn't show the scene where I lubricate the oil filter.

@@NewToMonster the bike is on kickstand on the left and the oil window sets on the right side so it's higher than it should be. That's why 4l seems ok.Check the manual p209. 1) The level should be checked at warm engine, about 15 minutes after the engine has been stopped. 2) Turn off the engine and wait 10\15 minutes to allow the oil to flow completely inside the sump. 3) Position the bike with both wheels on a flat ground and in straight position. 4) Then, check the engine oil through the sight glass.

The amount of ignorance and lack of common sense for the removal of a simple oil filter is amazing !! Get the wrench/pliers type removal tool, and use that. Grip it, loosen it and that it. WTF !!🙄🙄🙄
