So, I actually test drive it about 2 years ago and decided to get one (the amazing gray) but thanks to shortage in supplies (10 months waiting list!) I went and got me the Africa twin instead, by doing that I actually saved some money and can't say I am looking back since that day. Now, As one that follows your reviews repeatedly I would be more than grateful if by the end of your reviews you may mention the parallel competitors of the bike (as you see them of course), Since we are living in very confusing times in which a category of a bike is a fluid thing. that may help a potential buyer to understand who are the bikes he should check up before the first payment. In the case of the V2- Maybe the tiger 900? The Norden 901? BMW 850? Africa? You see.. really confusing, Just a thought
@VToldsMotoShow Жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea about mentioning the competitors. Since retrospectively it won't work, it just crossed my mind to add that in the description. It is actually very confusing indeed, but mostly in the middle adventure segment. Adding Tenere 700, Aprilia Touareg, Ducati DesertX and the Norden - I'm not sure myself. Likely won't exactly find out before riding them though. As for Multistrada V2 and a "forced" swap for an Africa Twin, 10 months of waiting sounds insane - seriously. I'm glad that you're enjoying the Africa!

Hi V-Told! Thanks for a great review! Do you have any thoughts on how does MTS V2 compare to R1250GS in terms of corner handling? I love how easy and fun the GS is to ride on twisties. Can I expect similar on MTS V2? (I know you can’t on MTS V4).
@VToldsMotoShow Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Now, it's a tough question but I believe that today there's nothing in the market within any adventure motorcycle segments that can match BMW R1250GS' handling. The only one may be a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE at a speed range of 20-80 km/h (however ridiculous this sounds). V2 corners quite similarly to me as a V4, just with an overall lighter feeling in all circumstances. There's nothing worrying in the V2 though and with such wide suspension adjustment possibilities, you can really work on this bike's behavior. But at the end of the day, I myself would choose an R1250GS for a twisty road.
@Mac_okee Жыл бұрын
I had the GS for many years before I switched to V2. The GS and it’s combination of torque and easy handling makes it very harmonic to drive through corners . But in my opinion the V2 is easier to drive in the twisties!

@VToldsMotoShow Жыл бұрын
First of all, with your height, Multistrada V2 may give you space to "breathe" compared to Tracer 9. The difference should be significant. As for the premium feel, I'm not sure if Multi V2 gives that but the Ducati brand overall is premium, so in the end of the day, likely you'll get that too. Especially taking into account that strange dashboard of the Tracer. both of these have seats that completely don't suit me because if being hard but if you're managing it one Tracer 9 GT, then on a Multistrada V2 you shouldn't suffer either. In terms of deals, to me Multistrada V2 would be an upgrade and out of the two I'd choose it myself - provided that the deal is good as otherwise there are other bikes that I enjoy more in the segment. I hope this helps.

I had the v2s on rent for 4 days while on vacation on Tenerife. Honestly, I do not think the issue is the engine, but rather the gearing. It is way too tall, especially the 1st & 2nd. I think the bike could really benefit a couple extra teeth on the rear sprocket. Maybe even one tooth down on the front sprocket. It just felt the bike was never in the right gear for the common speeds. There's a lot of 30km/h limits in towns on Tenerife. The bike mostly could not do it in 2nd, 1st was jumpy and a bit too high. Similar to 50km/h with 3rd and 2nd. Overall I loved the bike, the chassis is awesome. I would just need a higher seat and lower gearing and then it would be perfect.

V-Told, thanks for great review, but could you also comment on how it's compared with older (bigger brother) 1200S/1260S V2? Especially if you would be traveling with a passenger. My only concern is that V2S can have not enough power for 2people+luggage.. what do you say about it? Thanks in advance!
@VToldsMotoShow Жыл бұрын
That's a challenging one as right now I don't remember the 1200S very much. I had it for some time quite a few years ago and I haven't been making reviews at that time so there's not that much of my own data to get back to. The difference in performance is there for sure but is it enough to make the V2S appear as definitely not powerful enough? I'm not sure, especially that I don't usually ride with passengers. Tough call.
@Fernando90054 Жыл бұрын
Hello V-Told!✌️ Thanks for the nice video. It’s very well done like usually. You were saying that this iteration of the Ducati Multistrada is not so expensive as the V4 version. So, is it significantly cheaper, but with all the bells and whistles, the price goes up pretty high. I have the BMW S1000 XR 2022 model as you know, and despite the up grades of this bike iteration added compared with this bike’s version prior to 2020, I still feel that the bike behaves better in town and in slow maneuvers than the predecessor model but it is always a little “false” at idle or on low gears, and very low speeds, when it can suddenly shut down and you’re stuck with a 226 kg motorcycle in hands locked in first gear😅it’s a challenge! You can’t trust the bike as you do with a 1250 GS. If the Ducati V2 behaves less well on those situations, I don’t see a reason there to test ride it😉
@VToldsMotoShow Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks, this V2 is still very premium priced - if one may use that term here ;). Compared to V4 it's a good deal likely, especially that it doesn't lack much in comparison while it also does some things better than it. Engine shutting off on any bike can be a nightmare. Sometimes manufacturers find the causes of that and fix via software, so maybe it would make sense to ask your dealer about it? I believe Triumph allegedly found a solution to that same issue in their Tiger 1200 and attempted to fix it with software. I hope BMW can handle it too with XR like yours!
@Fernando90054 Жыл бұрын
@@VToldsMotoShow I’m going to wait a little more until I talk about that with the Dealer as bikes tend to do this things in an early stage, when they are brand new, like my XR is. But if it gets constantly doing that I will ask the Dealer for sure! Thanks 👍🏻
