I realize that this comment is seven years in the future, but as someone who rides a Hypermotard 950 SP and is looking for a sustained speed bike with a bit of wind deflection; you have convinced me that this will be a good choice. Thanks for doing a review that wasn't one end or the other. I really enjoy twisties in the mountains, and this bike will fit the bill. Thanks!

I recently got a 2017 939 Supersport with only 2159 km on it and it looks like new. I bought it without ever test riding one. I just took a chance and the second I road it I new I made the right choice. I am totally in love with the bike. I test road a bran new 2023 Yamaha XSR900 just a couple weeks before buying it. and when I first road the Ducati I instantly liked the feel of it more. it clicks almost every box for me. good ergonomics but I still might ad some bar risers on it. nice seat and seat hight. great engine with really usable power. really nice stock sound. the tires are really good. the bike feels so stable and confident inspiring around big sweeping turns. it holds it's line like a rock. has great breaks and mine is only the standard model and I think the suspension is really good. but I haven't ridden the S to compare it to. and there seems to be no videos that compare the suspensions. I don't really care about a quick shifter because I love using a clutch, it is part of the joy of riding a motorcycle, the bike also looks beautiful. I love the looks of the pipes and the single sided swing arm. really from front to back it is such a nice bike. but a few things I don't like is the bike doesn't like being below 3000 rpm. and when you let the clutch out in first gear it is a little odd how it feels because you have to pass through those low rpms to let the clutch out in first gear. so it takes a little getting used to, and in bumper to bumper stop and go traffic that is barely moving it is not fun to stop and start and stop and start on this bike. also really hot running in those conditions. which I found out the other day. but as soon as you get on any kind of open road it just feels so nice. I also hate that the key has an extra position all the way to the left which leaves a couple of lights on. so if you are not careful locking your handlebars. and you put the key all the way to the left you will come out to a dead battery. like I did after having the bike for only a week. and the battery would not take a charge which meant taking off the left fairing to change the battery. but I took advantage of the situation to install a gps. and the mirrors vibrate. but I can deal with the negatives. I really love the bike.

I just got one and dreaming go to the track with it. It’s a perfect bike who wants the sport feel everyday, and don’t want go to the chiropractor after rides on weekends. Very capable, fun to ride. Great review matte!

Got the bike a few days ago! Love it. The headlight though not LED are as bright as that of a car. The TCS and ABS are a life saver. There is a loooooot of power just from the start unlike in line fours. The sound when you let go of the throttle is amazing, sounds like a jaguar. But what I love about it is how comfortable to ride the bike is. Coming from an R15, its a life saver or should I say wrist and back saver. The seat is just the perfect amount of cushioned, not too soft so you don't sink in but not too hard either. You can ride it for hours on end and you'll feel no pain. Just two problems, I'd have loved a usable mudguard, the splash on the pillion is just bad, if you ride through mud and I do ride a lot off road. And the heat, you have to open your legs apart like that on a harley. But it's very practical for a liter bike, even the pillion seat is comfy. Love it, would be an understatement to say the truth.

I'd like to get this bike just for its looks alone but then again same could be said for literally every bike Ducati makes

This is very likely my next bike. I have a Ducati Monster 821. Just got new Rosso III tires for it. Will likely swap to the Supersport S either next year or early the following year. This has everything I want that the Monster doesn't. But my Monster is a ton of fun!
@Youtube_Globetrotter7 жыл бұрын
I tried them both when I didn't have a Ducati. But my choice fell on the Monster 821 due to the easiness to drive it. But I must admit the super sport looks really nice. Almost as beautiful as the Panigale 959.

Love the review. Like many many other channels though, I wish the rider would state their height when doing these reviews - it would help people relate more (or less) to what is being said if there is a height reference.

How is the wind protection for a long trip on a 90 mph expressway? I have a 2017 ninja 1000 with v stream windscreen. I’ve been wanting to trade my bike but afraid of not getting the wind prorection i get from my ninja 1000.

If it just had a bit more power, I'd be tempted to swap my 1199s in for one but 113bhp is just too low.

I get all of this, but I'll probably still get a VFR. Generally, I've seen that if someone is looking to buy in this class and considers a VFR, they're going to get a VFR. Yes it's down on power, heavier and doesn't have the electronics but it's still the bike i'd buy.
@cueballB7 жыл бұрын
I'd wait if i were you. The VFR is overdue for an update. We'll probably be seeing a new VFR in the next two years.
@Texarmageddon7 жыл бұрын
VFR isn't that big of a seller for them to update it that quickly. 6th gen went 10 years before finally seeing an update.. IF you're going to wait you'll be waiting for a long time.

I think you'll find the kawasaki is a more complete package with less compromise... more power more torque smoother engine more mpg more comfort for touring, panniers ready and over 2 grand cheaper.. No brainer really although I am pleased Ducati have made this bike..

Hold on a second. Isn't the red one actually the Supersport and the white one Supersport S? Beside that, very nice review.
@tomorrowtoday48397 жыл бұрын
No. Supersport S comes in red or white. White costs more. Supersport in red only. The initial release of bikes in the U.S., for the S, were all white ones. But the red S is out now. My local dealer has two...

The difference is the Öhlins damper on the S model. The "gold" paint tells you if it's Öhlins or not.

I didn't think Ducati could make an ugly sport bike I was clearly wrong. They didn't make much effort with the design of the bike. It's the back end of a monster which isn't a sport bike, the lights look fucking stupid
