Am I wrong or isn't for wedge that the enemy will first target the squads in the middle and then head for the troops in the back, so in your example with ranged wedge they would first target ranged and then the infantry in the back and not the cavalry?

It's a 50/50. I'll use the same range wedge as an example. So you'll have to get through the first 2 range squads, but while you're busy with that, the infantry in the back go up behind or up front of the first 2 range squads, while the cav are still on the outer sides. When you clear the first 2, your squads can hit either one of which that ends up the closest to them, which can be determined by a bunch of different factors (4 troop fluffs/formation choice of the attacker)

Hello , big fan here , i got a question what do you think of my formation i have 2m infrantry T3 300k T3 Archer 300k T3 Horse AND 2.5 m of T2 Archer AND Horses. What do you think about this comp Also would you reccomend me to use Infrantry wedge ore phalanx for this setup ?

yeah delete t3. t3 is just a waste for troops for igg to make money. cost to performance got t2 increase more troops and they will save you rss as far as meat shields go. if your a solo trap.. same concept. slight more might for dbl troops but costs less and same outcome plus you can keep a lower might and bite. t3 is obsolete (like the T1000 lol)

Hey you think it would be possible to do a tutorial on rally’s defense? So not for a trap but a normal player. What do I do the second the rally starts what reins do I ask for where do I port all that good stuff could u explain that ?

When you get rallied, it depends on whether you are in fury and if you want to take the rally. If you are in fury, you have no choice but fight, hide, or get zeroed and capped. Let's say you are caught in fury and want to take the rally. You'll want to put on your mixed set, switch talents to mixed if you haven't, and just before the rally marches, random out, or port to the furthest location on the map from the position of the rally captain. It forces them to use carpets to hit you, unless you change location while the march is walking to you. But you'll have enough time to see what troops they are sending to be able to switch formations to counter them. And since you already had your war gear and talents on, you don't need to worry about putting them on when the rally marches. You can also use an attack boost before the rally hits or marches, but that is if you're comfortable breaking your anti and exposing your comp for a bit, just try not to get scouted if you do.

there is a mistake there .. no matter you are in range wedge or range phalanx still cavalry will be the next troop in line .. range frontline its just crap .. if they send a range rally against your range frontline in range phalanx you will take less damage but still if your range gets all killed infantry wont be next to hit no matter you are in range phal or range wedge ..

It all depends really. If your range gets completely blown out, meaning no range at all, and they send another attack, the infantry would be up next, since they are up front of the cav when the battle starts. But it you still have a lot of range, the cav can walk ahead of the infantry while the enemy is still targeting your range. Range phalanx and range wedge are one of the most used formations in defense, due to the fact that the range don't have to be up close to the target to start hitting them. They stay back and keep still while the enemy troops have to walk to them, which gives time for your inf and cav troops to walk up and hit them. If they send infantry in a range wedge or cav phalanx, then they would walk a lot longer, and since cav moves faster, they will be on the enemy infantry long before the opposing inf reach your range.

Range wedge is best . Most rally trap and party trap using range wedge. Even infantry rally also can't did more damage against range wedge.

In my own opinion Phalanx is better in attacking and wedges are better in defense

In truth, there is no true "best" formation to use in defense, it just depends on what you have and what the enemy is sending. You can use phalanges on offense, but there will be times where a wedge would be better. When attacking with a wedge formation, you position your attacking squads to to take out only half of the enemy's frontline. That is mainly what a wedge is for on offense. For example, if the person you are rallying is sitting in range phalanx with 500k range, no infantry, and 3 million cavalry. You'd probably think sending infantry to clear the range on the front would be better, but the 3 million cav will give you a lot of losses. So to reduce losses while dealing heavy damage, is to send a range rally in infantry wedge. What this formation does is put your 4 range squads on the sides, rather than a 4 range front. Your range will target the enemy's 2 range squads on the outer sides, and when they kill those, the cavalry would have already moved up to your range, which means your range will target them next, making you counter fully. In the battle report, it will show that you killed 250k of their range, and the rest is their cav. That is just one example of many. In short, both types of formations can be used on offense/defense. It just depends on what the defender has and the attacker is sending
