Well technically a swan is a big duck too. If you look at the latin name for their taxonomic family its: Anatidae. This mean they are ducks. Not only are all ducks, geese and swans ducks , but they are also all geese (Anseriformes).^^ Egyptian Geese and mullard ducks are closer related and (genetically) more similar to each other than a Egyptian and a Canadian or Greylag Goose would be.

@@neagucosmin3903 I know but they were named incorrectly. Genetically "Egyptian geese" are actually a large species of duck. You can even tell by noticing their young have duckling color patterns instead of true gosling color patterns.

@@windtalker4191 , actually, the egyptian goose is more related to shelduck. So, egyptian goose, like shelduck, shows both duck and goose features. You don't speak here only about the goslings color patterns. For example, the Cape Barren goslings looks more like ducklings (color patterns) but they are goslings. The debate is very sophisticated. This specie was classified as goose so, we name it Egyptian goose. Does not display sexual dimorphism, both parents raise the chicks, they are monogamous and bond for life, etc.
