Up next for the 8BitStereo revamp is of another popular upload, this time being Capcom's very own DuckTales! A delightful game with an even more delightful soundtrack from the often not mentioned enough composer Hiroshige Tonomura, for such a high profile game, his name/association composing for this game was not discovered well into the mid 2010's, with the Sound Driver creator for most Capcom games, Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, often being credited as the composer. But thankfully now we can give proper praise to Hiroshige Tonomura for creating some true catchy songs , with "The Moon" alone carrying the popularity of this game and OST, but of course the entire soundtrack is full of charm and that Capcom vibe and for a bonus, I threw in the prototype versions of Transylvania and The Moon, and the MP3 download also features the then recent discovery of a prototype track for the "Stage Select", check it out! This game that has a lot of nostalgia and value to so many people that grew up with the original show and this game, with fun gameplay that's always worth replay value, graphics that capture the essence of the characters and environments, and of course a classic soundtrack that resonates with so many people, its just a lovely classic that gave Capcom the reputation for making the best games based on Disney properties.

very eloquent. im glad you didnt say moon is the best. wise decision. half this soundtrack is better than the moon. african mines, transylvania, boss, himalyas, (moon) . if you play this stuff on instrument you start appreciating the crazy accidental tones, esp mines. really smart unique piece.

I know that everybody only talks about the Moon theme, but that's so deserved. And it's a nice feeling that a song that was so awesome in your child memory is also awesome for so many people out there. We didn't have internet at that time so how could we know that other people enjoyed it so much? Now, I know than when I was enjoying this song so much when I was 8 in the middle of France, there was another kid in Poland thinking that this tune was awesome, same for another kid in Alberta, in Norway, in New York City or in Mexico : "The music of the moon stage is so cool". And now, look at us 30 years after, still thinking how awesome this music was/is and how it brings us back in Time. But let's also give justice to the other tracks of the game: Transylvania and Amazon notably for me. Ah... Nostlagia is such a bitter-sweet feeling.

The moon theme is one of the greatest songs to ever come out of the 8-bit era. I remember playing this game when it first came out, and I was mesmerized when I heard this song. I literally just moved Scrooge to a safe spot and let the music play for a little while (unfortunately, there was a time limit).

theres a game composer, i forget right now she was female japanese. would go to game rental store, rent the games, let it play and record to cassette. hardman was mentioned, from megaman. im glad im not the only one with a hardman for nes tunes. moon seems scalar and chordal. to me its the pop music of nes tunes. its relaxing and balanced but i prefer complex experimental tunes. african mines! no sense in arguing tho < 3

Oh yes depending on the soundtrack, the well known tracks if not majority of any looping track have been extended at least by an extra loop if not 2x extended, making sure to give them enough length if I feel it calls for them to be! :)

It's amazing how well most Capcom composers got that sound down with Yoshihiro Sakaguchi's sound driver, its among the most defining feature for NES Capcom games, and it certainly help make there games sound unique from the rest.

You really did a good job on this updated version, taking some of the reverb out of the old version to make it more sound like the original but stil keeping a little bit to make it more fluent. And this time you got the highs in the audio perfectly right 😁
@Nikos8BitStereo3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! What I feel is a nice mix between the old with the slightest of echo/reverb, maintaining its crisp and clear quality while being the 8BitStereo most people still know and enjoy! Capcom definitely have some interesting highs in there OST's, but luckily it still keeps itself listenable which is a blessing.

Best games by Disney's cartoon!!! By the way Moon Theme was also in the remake of the cartoon Ducktales 2017!!!! By the way, two months ago we found the most wounded prototype of Ducktales, there are some tracks that are not the same as in the final version and a late prototype!

@@user-xw2tj1kn1f I’m inclined to agree. As someone who dabbled with making my own NSF mixes (I even uploaded my own soundtrack video but took it down because my video editing didn’t make the cut) this meets my standards. About the only other uploader that has met them was grad1u52.

Thank you, I am quite satisfied with this versions, no, I am WAY more satisfied and happy with these Revamps, helps show that I actually care about the OST's with the presentation :P And sorry for late responding (3 years is an embarrassingly long amount of time, lol), but I absolutely will be doing Game Boy soundtracks, I got to a few in my old era, but not as many as I'd like, I would love to get through all the Turok games and Alberto Jose Gonzalez's entire GB/GBC catalog, I'm working to increase uploads for my current NES/Famicom output, maybe into next year I'll spice it up with Game Boy and Master System/Game Gear soundtracks just to show I can do the variety, lol.

Thank you sir, this version closely matches my own NSF setup for this soundtrack. Not too much reverb; very clear with nice interpolation/sample rate and stereo separation. Though I think the channel mix differs a bit from mine. Also like that each track has been extended a bit. If you are mixing these in the same way I am, then I would hesitate to call these “pseudo-stereo” mixes as each NSF track is panned/mixed independently without any tricks to achieve the stereo effect.
@Nikos8BitStereo3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah that is definitely an outdated phrase, obviously just kept along since using it in 2012, tho of course I see now it is a real term used, which I definitely didn't research back then, I figured I was the first to come up with that term :P But with these new mixes I've decided to just call them the new "8BS Mixed" format, to signify the sound and new mix that is unique to what is being done on this channel :)
@excrono3 жыл бұрын
@@Nikos8BitStereo No worries, just wanted to make sure you give your mixes a little more credit :) I like the idea of branding your new mixes as such. I have a request as you seem to be the only active uploader who is doing these NSF mixes justice. There is currently a need for Megaman 4-6 done up correctly. What we have now is the old WiiGuy’s old reverb heavy mixes and a set of newer, questionably emulated videos by Liyra (with mixed up/missing tracks to boot). with 4 only in mono. I’m thinking these should be pretty popular and worth the effort with the updated style.
