I liked how they implied that Huey don't put all the work into schedules because he likes it. He does it because everyone found an arbitrary reason to leave him in charge and he became like that to prevent things going awry, fearing being the one held accountable for all three's actions. In the halloween episode it was pretty clear that he made his plans specifically to avoid bad things happening (them loosing all the candy they would have gathered). I can imagine that the more he plans, the more people expect him to plan, the more he fears people will blame him when an unforeseen problem arises and I'm now feeling really sorry for this little redhatted duck

Which is where the timeline change happened. I suspect that during the events of New Laird of Castle McDuck, Scrooge found a way to accidentally grant his parents immortality. But the caveat to that was that the castle disappeared and only reappeared every five years. Which would alter the timeline fairly dramatically. It also raises the question of what, if anything, happened with Soapy Slick. Slick mocking Scrooge with the news of his mother's death is what motivated Scrooge to unleash the full McDuck + Irish rage on that river boat.

This has been supposed to be Huey's season, but where Dewey and Louie's arcs were relatively solo, Huey seems to be getting his stories by having others act as foils to him. They don't seem to be able to find ways to have him lead stories without reacting to someone else.
@keirgomcginlay20444 жыл бұрын
I feel this may be due to Huey's more responsible nature. Dewey and Louie also shared screentime for their development, but because they are both quite chaos orientated, they are often more capable of CAUSING the problem they learn and grow from, or at least, contributing to it. (eg: Harp-B-Gone.) Huey, meanwhile, is often shown to be cautious and plan heavy. His issues often seem to lie more in his relationships with others, and his confidence in himself. He isn't going to start a zany scheme, but he does need to come out of his shell a bit.

This is one of my most favorite episodes this season so far. It was great seeing more of Scrooge and Goldie's relationship and how they originally viewed each other in a happier light. Plus, I really admired how after she planned to steal a bottle of the fountain's water, she changed her mind after seeing Louie in danger. It's a nice callback to their own adventure last season. The twist on this Fountain of Youth was also very clever and intense, with a frightening death for Ponce de Leon. As for Rockerduck, I was glad to see him return here. Although, I can kind of see your point in how he could've been taken out of this episode, unless he and Jeeves just appeared near the end to secretly steal some of the Youth water and maybe brought it over to FOWL.

Somehow, I thought Ponce DeLion was going to be that version of El Capitan from the original series. Then I remembered he was some dog/rat thing. And he kinda looked like an evil version of Talespin's Wildcat. Also, it's always nice to be reminded that Goldie and Scrooge do care about each other. The rivalry frustrates, yet intrigues Scrooge. Someone just as devious as he is, not just someone who's out to get him, but rather someone who keeps him on his webbed toes. This episode emphasized how much they do actually love each other, not only as younger versions of themselves, but how Goldie sacrificed herself to rescue Scrooge, rather than just take what she needed and leaving him to fend for himself.

I really like this episode. Scrooge and Goldie are great. I think one of the small details, but what I loved was the Goldie and Louie unspoken bit since we saw her place Louie's picture in her wallet in that one episode. And I liked that it wasn't just the relationship with Scrooge that helped change her habits of saving herself. I also did enjoy the sibling plot between Huewy and Dewy. However, and I know it was a scheme, but I almost wish it had been Hewy to figure it out as this is meant to be his season and it really feels as of now like everyone is getting the spotlight, but him. I think they could have done up until the breakfast bit, but then Huewy goes off confused about Dewy's growth spirt and figures it out like Louie did. Or since Louie is important for the Goldie arc, which I love, maybe split it. Like Louie senses something is up, goes up to the room, finds the journal missing (trying to take his big brother's advice on research) and finds Heuwy, who gives a quick recap of the history, and then together they solve the mystery. So cut a few of the Webby bits which while fun didn't add a lot to the overall story. Great job and congrats on finally being caught up with the show :).

I really liked the balance of the A plot and B plot and how neither felt unimportant to the other- how Goldie and Scrooge get a chance at character development and we get to see them on more amicable terms, Huey, Dewey, and Louie's sibling dynamic and specifically the power struggle between Huey's meticulous planning compared to Dewey's haphazard lack of planning, and we just get some great character moments such as Scrooge showing his morals in not being willing to rob the youth he was disdainful of from their time or Louie showing how he's improved as a character by being the one to figure the mystery out because Huey and Dewey are preoccupied with their fight. And Webby's role in the story, while not very important, is a fun foil to Scrooge and Goldie's newer, younger bravado, and it's just a fun moment when Dewey thinks she's been made older but she just explains it's a bad day, since that's relatable. Just having one of those days, that is, not supernaturally aging and becoming elderly. Also, I think Rockerduck adds a good sense of feel to the episode, as his appearance is largely irrelevant when Ponce de Leon was already a big enough threat, but for Scrooge and Goldie's end, he added a sense of suspense and danger as he's just lurking in the shadows as they go about their quest. And his purpose was absolutely just to make him younger and more capable for FOWL's machinations, which I think is important enough to have him show up. It makes sense, though, that Rockerduck just leaves when he wins- since focus goes back to the actual main villain of the episode in Ponce de Leon. And man, is Ponce a cool villain- he is a lion, which props for that from the start, since lions are cool. But also, he can go between terrifyingly threatening in a fight to a respectable honest businessman running a hotel. Well, respectable and honest until you go into the pool, then he's a shadowy conspiracy villain, which just makes him that much more interesting. He's a very passive threat until his mystery is being uncovered, and then he takes charge and is a really solid villain. In general, I loved this episode for the balance of great characters, fun moments, and the mystery and adventure surrounding it all.

I record the clips myself exclusively from official sources. I don't endorse piracy or alternative site downloads. Please support the official release, it signals to disney that people want more of the show.

@@seaniccus What sources might that be? Disney+ isn’t the best with keeping up with airing shows. Thanks for answering BTW.

You can watch new episodes on the Disney Now app if you log in with your TV provider

@@seaniccus Again, thanks for responding, but unfortunately I don’t have a tv provider. I’m all streaming like a lot young millennials and old centennials/gen z ( which I am )

Also everyone: Please don’t act immature over two adults kissing. Kissing is in FICTION. DEAL WITH IT It’s not inappropriate, if you think it is you are stuck in the past and need to get your head out your butt. Thank you😅

Yeah, I do think people are really obsessing a little too much with that Scroldie kiss scene. I mean, jeez you guys can you calm down a little? I know it's okay to have different opinions on kissing scenes, but come on, it really isn't anything new. Especially when it comes to anything Disney in general.

The Ducktales reboot is finally feeling like Ducktales. In the first season, the show felt like Gravity Falls with ducks. While that’s not a bad thing at all, it didn’t feel like pure Ducktales to me. In the season and third season, the characters have settled into their orignal roles. Scrooge is the adventurous main lead. Donald and Launchpad are the comic reliefs. Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby are the intelligent but mischievous kids. It’s all coming together. 😎

No mention of the fact that they killed a character in this episode. Nor of the kiss that launched a thousand fan ships. Aaannndd how does FrankenJeeves stay Frankensteined when turned into a Franken-toddler?

I hated how that happened to Jeeves I hope rocker duck somehow fixes him but probably not
