I was the DJ at Virginia City Dancehall and Saloon in Tomball, TX when I found this song and began playing it virtually every night until I left the club in November 1992. Other DJs in the area went on to play it as well and it became very popular and several years later Dude Mowrey even played at the dancehall several times. I didn't understand how much of an impact that song made on people until I was at a memorial service for a friend of mine's fiancé who passed away from a car wreck and that song was played. Within the first 5 notes I knew the song and immediately lost myself in the emotion of it and broke down. I never realized a song could have that much impact on someone else let alone myself. Have a blessed day!

I've been searching for this song since the early 90's when I first heard it in a country dance hall outside of Houston. Seriously, 20+ years later, finally found it. LOVE this song! Why didn't it ever make it to mainstream radio? Somebody should pitch this to Bobby Bones...

YAmy MangumFenwick You probably heard it at Virginia City in Tomball, TX...where most of us Houston folks discovered Dude Mowrey.

+YAmy MangumFenwick I love this song too. I had the cassette tape and think I might still have it. I just ordered the CD off of Amazon today! As for dance halls, yes, it was probably Virginia City. Loved going there. Miss that place...as well as Roper's, Silverado's, The Stomp...the list goes on and on. lol

I've heard a couple other artists record this song; Dude Mowrey's version is the one and only hands down.

I know right. I've had the CD when it first came out years ago and the whole thing is good. I never could find it either, so I decided I'd be the one to post it and went ahead and put the whole CD on here. Glad you found it.
