About Dude Dad:
Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.
In addition to Dude Dad©, I have been in numerous TV shows, commercials, and have regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I will also be hosting my own TV show called "Super Dad" on the new Magnolia Network / Discovery+. Heidi and the kids will also be a part of the show. I am originally from the rural community of Howard, South Dakota.

You forgot the part where you arrive at church, smile, greet everyone, and act like your life is completely put together and you and your wife didn’t just have a screaming match at home and you pretend you don’t wanna leave the kids in the nursery and classrooms the rest of the day.

@@ldoe8731 Geez were you sitting behind me or something?? My daughters were reasonably behaved (and by that I mean not actually punching each other or calling each other names) but they'd still have hissy fits with each other. Meanwhile my son, the youngest, would be entertaining everyone in the surrounding pews by climbing onto the back of the one in front and then diving off. Or he'd be crawling around the floor trying to put the kneelers down on everyone's feet. It was always a circus. One time on our way out, a little old lady came up to me and said "Maybe you should try to control your children. It's VERY distracting for everyone!" Another little old lady came up right behind her, put her hand on my arm and said "Don't pay any attention to her, Dear. She's just a miserable old thing. You're doing fine!" I loved her for that.

Hilarious. This is a parody of real life with young children on a Sunday morning. I finally listened to my mom and had the 5 children lay out their Sunday clothes (including belts, ties, hair accessories and socks and shoes) the night before. They arranged them like a little person on the bedroom floor. The frustration of frantically searching at the last minute ended.

@anthropologybear2941
@anthropologybear2941 2 жыл бұрын
@@vvrr6757 Hi, VV RR. The key is to let the children lay out their own outfit selections in the shape of a kid on the floor. You inspect the ensemble and give approval once they announce they are ready for your inspection. Make it a game by talking to the clothing "kid" on the floor and then say goodnight to both the human child and the fascimile. Younger than 4 yrs old will still need to be dressed. However, some of the older children will be happy to support the younger ones if they need help.

Honestly, This is why we don't go many places here in this house lol. Between the games of "wheres my shoes" or "These socks feel weird. Now these pants feel weird. WHY are they so weird!!" Yeah ... by the time we're ready to go some days I'm already done and just don't even wanna go anymore lol. THEN!!! Then, the days I PLAN for the extra time to get everyone ready and to fight the battles of getting ready... THOSE days it's a breeze and we end up all dressed 30mins before time to go..... but since we have to wait guess what.... SHOES come off, socks!! Omg lol it's endless 😂😂😂 Love my kids though, I know this chaos is temporary and there will be a part of me that will miss it when they outgrow it.

You sure will miss it, and you’ll wonder how you ever managed it all. I had four children in six years. People used to say, “You sure have your hands full.” At the time things ran like a well oiled machine and I never thought it was a lot of work. The key was discipline on my part and theirs. I always had to be prepared, and I made darn sure they were obedient. Now they are ages 34-40. If I had a chance to do it over I sure would! (Don’t get me wrong, some days were a bear!!!)

I don’t know which part of this I love more. How accurate it is with a little girl to be fighting over what outfit to wear, the fact that you turn around and Theo‘s got a brand new toy out and then he gets all upset because you Yellit him after asking kindly 100 times or when he remembers the baby he just kind of sprinkle that food all over the place and the baby gets so excited and the pacifier just pops right out! The struggle is 100% real... I have 3 kids (my oldest is soon to be 12 with ASD, my middle child is 6.5 and my youngest is almost 3) and I'm always the one that has to make sure that my girls are getting up and dressed everyday for school and church (on Sundays). It's a lot harder for my oldest because she doesn't always hear or listen when we (my husband and I) tell her things "on the 1st try". We have to tell her over and over and when she doesn't listen, out comes the screaming! My middle and youngest pretty much are easy listeners and will do what we ask when it comes to doing what we ask, but for oldest... forget it!

Every. Sunday. LOL! Though I'd love to see the reverse role where mom is the one running around while dad does his morning routine (pooping for 45 minutes, obviously, just in time to eat and load up the car.) 🤣

Do I even remember the days of getting ready with out kids? I’m sure it must have been heaven, but I surely can’t recall. How many years until they’re all moved out? Too many.

This is your best video yet. The naked toddler, not eating breakfast, last minute bathing... Even the angry driving at the end is relatable. 😂🤣 People always wonder why I look so tired at church. It's because I've just been through THAT. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I feel this one! 😂 I remember one morning I got up to get ready for church and my two sons had found my tattoo ink I had put high up in a cabinet and they had put it all in my son's blonde hair, on my table and chairs, and little handprints and footprints were on my floor. I had to use oven cleaner to get it off the floor and table. We didn't make it to church that day!

So after doing this too many times (years?) to count I asked a mom of like 8 or something how she did it. She assigned an older kid to a younger one. AND, I learned to find shoes, socks, clothes, etc the night before. Lay it all out. Line up bowls with dry cereal or oatmeal and drinks on the kitchen bar or table. Add water or milk. They eat while I get ready. Hubs would go to PRAISE team practice at the crack of dawn. Eventually the kids that wanted to be on time were bribed with donuts to ride with dad. A friend would come pick me and baby up. It is mostly a blur though.

Yes to all of this…while my husband was in ministry I did Sundays on my own…once my baby son (4th kid) was all ready to go but had a blowout…and crawled into it. Poop all over the hallway, his hands, clothes…While I was getting the other kids their shoes and they were actually ready to go for once.🤦🏻‍♀️can’t make this stuff up. I stopped even explaining why I was always late.😭😩💟
