Nice video. I am curious why you rarely hook up a speed bar? Thank you
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I like simple and uncomplicated flight. It's why I rarely fly with instruments or gloves too! I like the simplicity of paramotoring. My style of flying is usually low or playing around - I don't really feel the need for speed[bar]. I'll definitely hook it up soon though and try it out on both my Roadster and the Solo, maybe I'll be converted ;)
@GolfFoxtrot224 жыл бұрын
First. I actually stopped editing my own video to watch this. I'll have to compare it with my Hadron XX just to see what its like. The risers do look tidy, but leave the the tip steering separately, they really don't need it and you loose the tip steering ability on long xcs.

PATRICK MCKOWEN yeah the v-king is cool. More of a free flight pedigree of wing than dedicated Paramotor. Awesome if you’re travelling though as it will fit into a small rucksack!

Hello Ben it’s off your topic but am thinking of training with Simon westmore how was the training do you get a pilot task book and stuff btw nice vid
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
Simon and Colin at Membury are awesome guys to learn with - honestly I'd look no further. The gents are not only great with the core syllabus but I've also learnt a lot from them about all other aspects of flying and styles of flight. They're a really good pair to know and have huge knowledge. The school itself has an impeccable safety record, its a massive field and they supply training wings (Dudek Uni 1.1 & V-King) and motors (Parajet Zenith & Mavericks with a variety of engines) to learn with. Once you're ready to buy Simon can help work out what kit would be best for you. They are good at teaching the soft skills too like decision making, judging weather, pre-flighting kit, e.t.c.. As with almost any form of training, it's just as much your responsibility to dive in and engage with training. The school offers unlimited training days so you can learn at your own pace (and when the weather or work allows) instead of paying for a fixed 2 week and gambling on the weather. There are usually a variety of ex-students or students of different abilities at the field to learn from too and make good flying pals with. If I were you mate, I'd give him a call his number is on (www.paramotortraining.co.uk). He'll be more than happy to walk you through the course and give you an intro in paramotoring. I have no regrets from learning with them and don't know a single pilot who does. Good luck and happy flighting :) maybe see you on the field some time.

Great review. Mind telling me which flight deck you have and a quick opinion of it?
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
willis higley Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. It’s the Gin Flight Deck Classic, it’s a brilliant flight deck - super easy to clip on before flight. I always leave one strap hooked up then do it like a seatbelt. The bag itself has Velcro up top. Super useful for sticking on my phone, it also has a number of loops that you can tether or tie things to. The capacity is 5ls which I find is plenty for gloves, phone, Wallet, DSLR, e.t.c... it once held a McDonald’s breakfast. It also has a fold out section for a printed map and then discovered gps is way easier. Overall great flight deck, me and Paul Francis both use it for every flight and it always comes in useful.

Trying to narrow down my first wing. I've been flying for a few months now 30ish flights on a macpara charger. It's this, or the roadster. Or another one that idk about. Thoughts?

No contest… in my opinion this is a better wing than the roadster. I’ve flown both the roadster and solo a load.
@CoyoteOne2 жыл бұрын
@@BenRaven hey thanks for the rapid reply sir! Anything else you'd compare the solo to for a "first wing after training"? Or any other contenders? You made a comment about the trimmers being full out, but only giving you 50% what the roadster gave you in speed? This wing really needs the speed bar to get the most out of it? My clip in max weight with reserve is 118kg. So the 24 solo would be the choice.

Solo or Report'air for long flights, what do you think?
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
@@skytransylvania6730 Personally, I've never flown the Report'Air but have friends that do. As I understand it, it's a good wing with very good stability. I would go for the Solo though, it felt really efficient in the air with good speed. I think it probably has the edge when you want to have fun with it too :) The specs and write-ups are on here: www.paramotorclub.org/store/category/11-dudek/

Do you think this would be a good first wing? I've been flying PG for 6 months and about to go PPG
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
MrCoolcool666 Hey, to be honest I’m not sure. I flew a size wing that I was very heavy in the weight range for which made it faster and more agile. The wing is rated en-b - the same as a Dudek Uni 1.1 or Ozone Roadster 3 (typical beginner ppg wings) however it’s definitely more responsive. I’d recommended speaking having a quick chat with an instructor about whether it will suit your needs. If you’re already a PGer then you maybe actually want this wing over the other two. It’s definitely the better wing. There is also an element of you’ll become accustomed to what you learn on... back in the day my friends learnt on way gnarlier wings.. even now I see people starting on Report’Airs or Synth 2 wings. Hopefully that answer helps a little, sorry I can’t be more definitive as I haven’t seen noobs on solo’s yet as it is so new.

Bud. Just as a matter of knowing these gliders well. Please be sure not to be on the brakes too deep when you takeoff. I was watching your shadow and it can get nasty. I know this technique has been working its way through pilots for some time but a few guys got really hurt so just sending good vibes with some advice. Love the video!
@BenRaven4 жыл бұрын
Eugene Cussons appreciate the advice mate :) I’ll have to review the footage to see how deep I went, usually my max is arms at 90 degrees. I’ve seen pilots go way too deep too. One stalled and the other accidentally deployed his reserve on takeoff because his hand as buried!!!
@therealeugenecussons4 жыл бұрын
Sure thing Ben! The takeoff stall crashes can be avoided so easily but some instructors keep putting the technique out there of the deep stall. Very avoidable. Happy trails bud! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHOmn6GCdqaMbcU
