I've never had a movie make me so irrationality confused and angry at the way the scenes were shot. It's like the camera man didn't fully know what he had to record so just recorded everything

Let's be honest, the problem with this movie is the director's complete lack of interest in filming attractive men. His complete disinterest manifests itself in a dry and unfocused directing style. If ge didn't feel comfortable directing a movie about hot guys dancing and being sexy, he should don't do it.

It is not like that at all, I was kicked of the theater watching the 2nd movie because I couldn't stop laughing and my Gf was furious and embarrassed lmao To compensate her, I tried to do some stripping routine for her ( I have a nice ripped body and good moves) just to burst into hysterical laughter when she started screaming from excitement 🤣 the thing is, us men don't see ourselves as seductive beings and that's why the whole concept is freaking hilarious, add to that the fact that they get paid less than tenth of what a female stripper makes and eventually they go down the road of Gay for pay which is sad.

Knowing what I know now, this movie’s generally sexless vibe makes a lot of sense. Soderbergh is known for not showing very sexy sex in his movies, if at all. His breakout film Sex, Lies and Videotape had no real sex in it, and all discussions of it were pretty clinical and matter of fact. This movie is in a similar vein. However, I promise you the second one, Magic Mike XXL, is far superior in its enjoyability and rewatchability. Soderbergh is still on cinematography and editing in that one too, but not directing. Even then, it looks much better imo. Still kind of yellow, but much prettier looking in general. The scenes in dark strip clubs are wonderfully lit. In general, it’s just about bros supporting each other’s dreams and doing dumb shit together. There’s also a substantial focus on the idea of what strippers can provide women, and what it means for a man to service a woman and listen to her wants and needs. Literally so heartwarming and charming - also much MUCH sexier. Again, no real sex shown, but the dance scenes are so creative and fun and genuinely sexy. 10/10 would recommend watching it.
