A huge thank you goes out to William Moore for allowing me to use his private recording of this wonderful Dudley Savage concert on the Duchess the Odeon Compton organ. William tells me he recorded this on his Sharp GF777 a truly quality piece of early 1980s electronics and one of the best Boom Boxes ever built! If you have never seen one do google Sharp GF777. The sound quality is amazing and I feel Dudley's playing here is also outstanding it's so bright crisp and clear and he gets some wonderful tone colours from the Compton organ. There will be a part 2 of more of this concert to come. A wonderful listen to one of the truly greats of the Cinema/Theatre organ world. Dudley Savage.

Another superb Theatre Organist, Dudley Savage. His handling of 'The Duchess' Compton is magnificent. What joy it is to hear such gems from what seems like yesterday but is in fact some 40 years ago! Thank You!

I was there at that concert...his classical items were always superb on the Plymouth Compton which could deliver with the power to 'raise hairs'....a superb organist and stunning arranger.. well done Kevin!!

Listening to Dudley Savage is always time well spent, and this is no exception. He exploits the considerable resources of 'The Duchess' to perfection, and I feel it is necessary to be both a fine classical organist and theatre organist to be able to do so with such panache.
