@kingnamor7774 жыл бұрын
Plus no offense but the only option for the Exiled in Kotor ll is turning to dark/light/neutral sides and having Malachor V destroyed or survive. Then finally leaving the plant in the ending. In my opinion they should've left the player a option to stay on Malachor V, having the echo attract the next generation of force users, teach them Kreia philosophy. I'm not talking personal growth, I'm talking about the competitive drive of technology. it's far from the only drive to improve one's surroundings, but it does bear fruit for other circumstances. the internet, for example, was borne out of a need based in military conflict, or the potential therein. no, it's more damaging to the sith's ideals to be able to point out that while they are born of war, which is at best a mixed bag, they take exactly the wrong lessons from it. that they do not teach others how to be strong, they only teach others to undercut those above them, to shy away from conflict, and to shy away from valuing oneself. that is to say, they undercut the core values of the sith. the sith, in that way, are entirely self-defeating. and it's very much worth knowing that the sith's ideals aren't unique to fictional characters. people in this real world believe in individualism to the extreme, in self determinism, and in valuing "strength" that really comes across as a terrible flaw and weakness. these people must be fought. they must be disallowed success. life is not a zero sum game. when others win, it can be in a way that you win as well.

That said I was commenting on the "clearly evil" bit based solely on his words and voice actor. If your only knowledge of him comes from say: dudufilm, you'd think he wasn't so bad either. Jedi and Sith are extremists. Labeling such people as "Good" or "Evil" is somewhat misguided. Both orders are heavily brainwashed, deliberate miseducation makes people think they have fewer choices than they actually do. This directly damages a persons freewill by limiting their ability to consider other options. Simply by listening to Plagues you can see he had tremendous potential... Then the Sith got their hands on him. The Sith may be closer to the truth of things than the Jedi. Yet, several of their teachings lead them to be pointlessly cruel, malevolent and obsessed with the Jedi. So yea, he's a tragic character.

I by no means agree that war is a solution to anything, but the desperation it brings with it inspires men and women to go over and explore territories previously unexplored with vigor never seen before. Oh my god this is good!!! Hearing Plagueis challenge Yoda's teachings might be the single greatest philosophical clash ever. And then to top it all of Kreia comes in and roasts both of them! Fantastic! Not to mention the part where qe can choose and no matter what, we fail her is magnificent. This is among your very best videos! Keep going! Here is an idea for more phenomenal stuff: could you do more stuff with TCW? You have already touched on order 66 and the Mandalorians but TCW is a new way of approaching those topics, especially with deathwatch and its turn under Bo Katan. Not to mention all the other awesome stuff. Would love it if we would see more of your skills directed towards that. Also a pieve on the Republic Commandos would be epic

One who is shackled to the Force is still a slave, allowing the cyclical Force to impose its will on them. Those who enslave themselves to its will only feed its cycle of suffering and destruction. Always question what you believe, and never allow yourself to be enslaved to anyone's or anything's will. Watch stuff on Kreia, from KotOR 2.
@ronniecosmos81054 жыл бұрын
This relates to society so much. We grew up with these pre-existing beliefs, and much like the Jedi order if you stray from those beliefs you were seen as lower than dirt. I found how hypocritical religion is (not your religion specifically but religion in general), because people preech of forgiveness and peace and doing the right thing. But at the same time, they will curse you out, tell you to go to hell, and make you feel worthless if you make them upset or decide to switch religions (much like the Jedi and sith order). The Jedi and Sith were unable to see this, and in the end they got wiped out. Believe what you want, but the same fate can happen to us. Self-destruction from the inside.
@0th_Law4 жыл бұрын
The Jedi Order was more or less built on compassion and empathy, to the point that they sent out people to learn of other cultures and truly understand them. They only deviated from this in the case of Dark-Side wielders, and more importantly, their relentless and destructive bloodshed. (Speaking as an atheist).

Kreia, Revan and Vitiate are one of the finest characters of all time. They all share essencial wisdom in one way or another.

Kreia, definitely. Vitiate, definitely not - he's just an absurdly OP Nihlius rip off, with none of the flaws that make Nihlius a compelling character. And Revan, yes - so long as you're talking about the Revan of KotOR II, not TOR.

Choose nothing but yourself. Revan did not choose the Jedi. Revan did not choose the Sith. Revan chose to do what he believed was right, not what has been chosen for him through the dogma of a code crafted by those that have already failed. The Force does not free you from death and it does not break your chains. For it IS death and it IS chains. Upon a thousand worlds, billions of sentients whisper "May the Force be with us". And yet by the Will of the Force, they will die, they MUST die. For Balance. To see this and choose nothing is failure. To see this and choose what countless have before you, to perpetuate the cycle is failure. Break from the Force. Forge your own path as you march where no other can. For it is the path of your own making. Slay the Force. Abandon it. Do not let it dictate to you your destiny.

"The Force is a tool, Jaden. Sometimes a weapon, sometimes a salve. Dark Side, Light Side, these are distinctions of insignificant difference. Do not fall into the trap of classification. Sentience curses us with a desire to categorize and draw lines, to fear that after this be dragons. But that is an illusion. After all this is not dragons but more knowledge, deeper understanding. Be at peace with that." - Kyle Katarn

Amazingly done as ever, it's difficult to pick a favourite moment, but if I must... Despite not being a great fan of the clone wars and despising the sequel trilogies, you did great at 2:00 with the faces overlapping. Another great moment was the scenes soon after, maul charging at 2:15 changing to Kenobi and Anakin clashing. Then again with Vader reaching out at 2:24 in both Rebels and Rogue one. Excellent as ever and a lovely twist at the end!

My own, incredibly heretical, response: “We all feel the pull from both the light and dark. Such is the inclinations within each of us. But such impulses don’t control us, so long as we remain true to ourselves. I am strong because I understand my place in the galaxy. The Force is a part of all living things, how could anyone hope to master it if they attempt to cut themselves away?” “Crippled by detachment, shackled to strength, to their masters and councils. They perpetuate their myths of higher power, following their beliefs as they were programmed into them. The galaxy can’t be set on the proper course until the Jedi and Sith can look beyond their teachings.” “I believe we must spread the Ways of the Force throughout the Universe. Plant connections and understanding in every heart. I believe in the democratization of communication.” “Stagnation, like Violence, can only decay. It cannot inspire others nor can it ever create or heal.” “The power of the Dark Side is but a step, and the Light is much the same.” “My right is the Force, and a powerful tool it can be. For only when I understand myself, can I truly master it in all it’s aspects.” “To have lived for so long, only to remain as blinded as ever. This is what you have created, countless failures, deserters, fallen, all born of teachings that have, as always, been defined by ego. And instead of allowing them to grow on their terms, all you have done is control and manipulate until they abandoned you. Such is the fate of the liar who tried to enslave others to her teachings, a hypocrite to the last.”

I "formed" Kreia's Code: "There is no truth in the Force; there is no great revelation, no great secret; there is only you. If you are to truly understand, you will need the contrast, not adherence to a single idea. It is conflict that strengthens us and isolation that weakens us, erodes us, grow past these infatile delusions of right and wrong. It is a far greater victory to make another see through the eyes of the exile, than to close theirs forever. Take care not to give in to vanity and arrogance; this breeds complacency and stagnation, instead, trust in your feelings; they will lead you in conquering the many challenges that the future holds for you. The highest mysteries cannot be found by falling to the Dark side, instead, reach out with your perceptions. Everyone is made up of events in their past, turning away from that which tempts you or causes you fear is not strength, facing it is. Never doubt what you have done, all your decisions have brought you to this point."

Another force user with teachings like Kreia will probably never exist, but we cannot allow ourselves to forget her lessons, they are the only lessons that truly matter in a galaxy consumed by an endless cycle of death.
