@ did you see my other question about if the duduk is easier to play than the ney? I've tried for years but just cannot get the sound with the ney. I really hope the duduk is easier.

Nice video. My 2 reeds don't sit in as much as his; not sure if the duduk needs sanding on the inside or if it's the reeds that are too big.

You should not sand the reed. Can you explain the issue more please?

I just got my first duduk and I am really struggling to get a sound 😅 my husband got a decent sound right away 😳 I realized his bigger hands are more confortable on the duduk…. I need to stretch really hard to reach every holes 😅 it made me wonder if there are different sizes of duduk?

Hi Anouk! It sounds that the reason might be your finger position. Maybe you leak air from the holes. Please try to place your finger with the knuckles instead of figertips, as you can see in the video :) Greetings!

Does the Reed determines the key of the duduk? So I could change the Reed and have a different duduk-key?

If you use a different key of reed, you will have intonational issues. For example, if you use an A reed with a C duduk body, the upper notes would be lower and lower notes will be higher. For a good intonation and comfortable playing, I recommend to use a specific reed for a specific body. But you can do it for semitones. For example, you can tune your A duduk to Bb with a smaller reed.
