J'ai dû voir ce film 3 ou 4 fois. Je ne m'en lasse pas. Quel suspense, quelle tension même si l'on connaît la fin logique ! Un automobiliste innocent poursuivi et mis en danger par un chauffard doté d'un semi remorque super puissant ( un peu trop à mon avis).Un fait divers de la route qui pourrait très bien se produire. Avec ce 1er film flippant, S. Spielberg nous préparait d'autres chefs d'œuvres pour la suite. Excellent film fait par un futur grand metteur en scène.

4:52 - 4:56 is my favorite shot in the entire movie. The epic sound of the Pete's rear differential reminds me of my road tripping days and night stops at gas stations and rest stops to fill up, rest and eat while big rigs made those sounds as they cruised by.

I remember when Duel was filmed in Agua Dulce and Acton in the early '70s. I think this was one of Steven Spielberg's firsts....

@@sandramulholland9975now if that was a Plymouth Fury the Plymouth Fury is a slightly larger longer wheelbase automobile that would support either with a 360 or 383 or a 440 where is the Plymouth Valiant for 1971 could have had a 318 cubic inch V8.

The Pete seems to handle far better at speed than the softly sprung, barely damped Val with its softly sprung, mildly damped suspension.

There was a movie La Menace that used the final scene from Duel in its plot line. The plot in the later movie did make more sense ( faking one's own death to escape the law).

I remember this use to come on channel 7 BUT my dad was a truck driver and this movie use to really piss him off, he felt truckers were getting a bad name from this

Está película yo la ví en cuba en el año 1972 no se me olvidará se llama ( muerte sobre rueda ) bueno en cuba rodaron en español tal vez aquí se encuentre en KZbin también en español, según he leído hacerla no sobrepaso los 100.000 dólares es una narrativa de persecución y obsesión de uno hacia el otro por sobrevivir fue una de las películas con suspenso más barata en los estados unidos,.😢😮 Juan

It’s a about a salesman named David Mann who was traveling on a business trip to see a client, while he was traveling there he encountered a truck which it first seems normal but after their encounter, all hell breaks loose as soon as the truck began to go full genocide on David Mann and tries to kill him and David without anyone helping has to fight off the truck on his own without any help

You got the plot exactly right, it's a story about a truck chasing a car and that's all I can get from it. I'm not entirely sure how that movie gets the accolades and praise that it does. It seems so simplistic and unengaging to me to the point where I'm bored by mid movie.
