You can also OOM the druid by using a R1 frostbolt to get them to shapeshift the slow off and then use a max rank frostbolt when safe to do so I do that on Turtle WoW

Poor Xar didn’t play Classic PvP in quite some time. He threw at least 2 games he could’ve maybe even should’ve won. But the first duell against the feral is 100% a win. It sucks ass if you can’t open as stealther or can’t charge as Warrior but that’s on you. You need the skill to secure your opener. And the last duell against the mage was rough. Unlucky to get that scorch and fireblast crit for half of Xars HP. If we would’ve spammed arcane explosion there he might have won that.

Played Vanilla back in the day raided AQ40 and Naxx and never heard of giving stealth players free hit as "fair". Fair is allowing them to stealth and relocate so you don't know where they are. If you're so predictable you get AOE'd out of stealth that's your problem

Letting the Stealth player get the opener in a duel is because they are balanced around getting said opener, its not like an arena, also its much smaller and easier to aoe them out in a duel. It used to be common practice to let the rogue open first in duels like this, but ofc in arena if you just catch them out (which i loved to do in wotlk on me destro lock with shadowfury i think it was called) and get an easy win if played correctly. letting them open actually makes it a challenging fight. this is given everyone has all cds.
