I doubt that Tiny had been planning this for 6-7 months. That's a romantic vision of a betrayal. The reality is that he probably became a had a clean start, played as normal, and one day was tired of farming consumables for 20+ hours a week and decided to end it there. You probably won't read all this but I had a similar situation back in 2012/2013 in diablo3 :D A "friend" that I met even further back in the early League of Legends times startet playing diablo and he and some other people kinda convinced me to join. I started playing and it took me some time to really get into it. After playing with him like a year (and don't forget the League time earlier) I dropped BIG Immortal kings gloves. I had no Paypal account back then so I traded it to him so he can sell it on the real money auction house and we go 50/50 since we play together so we win together. Turn of events: I went to a friends house this evening and logged into diablo on his PC just to check if he already sold it. What did I find out? He deleted me from his friends list.. After literally around 2 years of being ingame friends 😅

I played retail vanilla thru Pandaria. I was so attached to my toons that i doubt that I could play hardcore. I might be able to throw away a toon that only made it to 20, but a raid toon i had played for 66 days?! No way. Who am i kidding? I'd be bored in two days and back in game with a new tune.

I can allready see healers saying "brb" as soon as the tank pulls to kill a tank. there is no way someone can call it a grief since the healer will say "brb" like 2 seconds before a pull and you allready know the tank will pull.

Sorry, not an accident. Even if we grant he initially went to the wrong corner you can't convince me that he wouldn't notice 20+ people in the "wrong" corner he was dragging Zeliek to. But to top it off, the other warrior comes out and taunts off Tiny, tiny has to change stance to battle to mocking blow, the other warrior uses challenging shout, tiny then uses challenging shout too and drags it back to corner. The hate watchers are real. He made a huge amount of $$$ of his, and their, hate.

When you don't have any connections with anyone in a group or close friendships outside of the game, you are more susceptible to feeling excluded when certain big events happen, even if you are participating in them. You may feel like you are only a means to an end. Maybe he burned out and said to himself "You know what, I'm done wasting my life on this game, I'm going to show these people that none of this matters." Maybe he was having trouble at home which pressured him to do this. Maybe he didn't like being part of a group that only thought about themselves. Maybe it was a combination of all of these. There are many possibilities. (Now that I saw your new idea about the official, that actually makes a ton of sense, all the more reason to grief). This isn't bad logic for a griefer, this is good logic, especially if you have no intention on playing official. Also, once a griefer always a griefer is not the case. I used to grief quite a bit in different games, but I knew when to stop. I wouldn't go out of my way to destroy someones life all the time. I haven't griefed in over 20 years. You can't say I'm the exception, you made an absolute.

When vanilla first came out I was friends with this guy who talked me into downloading WoW with his “disc”. I was young and naive at the time so I thought nothing of it. He was able to steal my identity somehow by downloading this spyware disguised as the game. It’s weird because the game loaded and worked for me so I really didn’t think anything about it. A few months go by and I notice my bank account is in the negative when I try to withdrawal money. After doing a lot of investigating I was able to track down a motel he used in my name and he was caught on camera. I was able to get my money back and he went to jail. That was my very first experience with the game lol
