JB with all his millions that he made off the backs of his kids,, should have helped his daughter and grandkids with groceries at the bare minimum; it was only for a temporary amount of time and for good reason, JB should have respected that. Families that don't have access to millions of dollars, need food pantries. Therefore JB claiming to be such a responsible, caring, family & community oriented supposed Christian man, should have helped his own family with food temporarily because he had the means and ability to do so. It was selfish, mean spirited, immature, and egotistical of him. Jill did the right thing by speaking out letting the public know.

I would say that the amount of kids one has doesn't equal poverty. I know families of similar sizes, and they are doing great. However, these families have two parents that work their butts off to provide. Even the stay-at-home moms of these families have businesses and side hustles. The Dugger family is just the prime example of what it looks like when the parents try to make money off the backs of their kids.

This is what comes from a lack of education. If the Duggar boys had gone to a trade school and earned a certification, they would be in a different situation entirely. I was always told when I was choosing an occupation to consider that trends change. There are lots of things our society is dependent on, such as electricity. But Dear Ole Dad thought he knew an easier way. They think they come across as down to earth, hard working, and instead, they look like grifters. I find it ironic that they support politicians who have repeatedly ruined the very market that they depend on in real estate and house flipping.

Well I remember when the show first started and Jim Bob talked about their source of income which was rental properties commercial properties. But he said the the biggest source of their income at that time was when they leased the land to a cell phone company to put up a tower. And this lease was providing a good income for the family. Then of course they got the show and increase their income there, which led to speaking engagements, and help the sale of their books etcetera. But the cellphone Tower was the big help before the show took off. So I wonder if he still has that lease. But let's not forget that he has spent a small fortune on Josh's legal fees. That more than the show would deplete his resources. They can live without the shows income, but not if you start to sell income properties.

Who BUILDS a 2 bedroom house in this day and age? Unless one room is doesn’t have a closet so can’t list it as a bedroom and is considered a “den.” At that price point in ARKANSAS to boot?? It’s the BIBLE BELT. Christian’s galore! That means BABIES/KIDS. I use to be a real estate agent. Two bedroom houses a MUCH MUCH harder to sell. I saw SO MANY elderly couples take their 3br house and down to a 2br to expand master bedroom once kids were out of house. Then they couldn’t figure out why they couldn’t lost house for as much (because now they have a master “suite”) or why it was sitting on market for so long. When kids are grown sell the house and buy something more fitting to your needs/lifestyle. Don’t remove a bedroom unless you have 4 or more to start.

As a resident of Arkansas, he will never get that price unless someone is very stupid. You can buy larger land for way cheaper around here. Also, that house for sale is not finished according to the pictures. If that is the case, then it won't sell at that price. I just bought a house here in March and it is a 4 bedroom 2 bath with 2 car garage on 4 acres for $179,000. Good houses and land are still available, but they are finished and bigger than that in which he is trying to sell.

With the housing market and mortgage rates they should start building apartments. The population is getting older and people want to downsize. And getting a downpayment together when you need to spend 200,000-plus on a simple home, takes years. Jason probably plans on paying that 2700 after the house sells. only two bedrooms at that price it could sit there a long time. Maybe he should go in and do some construction for $5-$6,000 and turn it into a duplex and rent it. Not that i really care

I used to work for a Contractor some years ago, and whenever we owed our sub-contractors money, they would send us letters with their invoices and emails, then finally, they would show up at our office demanding their checks. I know this because my bosses would hide whenever they saw their trucks pull into our parking lot. Needless to say, I started looking for a new job after that started happening. Lol.

He would buy on credit, never pay, then the property owners would get slammed with property liens for stuff they paid the contractor for. He went to jail, but he's back out and doing it again under the same name. So many employees were burned on paychecks too. Sad.

The Contractor didn’t pay the Supplier and to remove the lien my parents had to pay the full price again to the Supplier and sue the Contractor to refund the initial payment. So much time in Court! Contractors are evil.

First of all with Jason's company the housing market has cooled due to high interest rates. It's time for Anna to get a job help provide for the kids. Stop helping Josh with his legal woes. Time for some of the wives to take a leaf out of Abbie's book get a skill and get a job. Ben and Jessa start making your own money. Ben needs to a float his resume and move to a bigger church.

Theyve overextended themselves financially, bending over backwards to finance Josh's legal defense/ appeal/ commissary etc. He's 1 of their 19 kids. And he's an adult with his own kids. And now all of the minor Duggars and Josh's kids are in jeopardy!!!!....along with the other adult Duggar kids who are still dependent on their parents for housing and so on... Jim Bob sucks at math and cost benefit analysis.

My maternal family is from an area a little to the southeast of where the Duggars are from, but still in the Ozarks. My great-grandfather would have been considered a liberal heretic by the Duggars because he was a highly educated teacher in the 1920s. He was also a benefactor of the starving during the Depression from his farm in Cleburne County, Arkansas

Yeah, I own land in rural Mississippi that my brother and I are trying to sell. It's a comparable size to the land JB is trying to sell. IT'S NOWHERE NEAR WORTH THAT MUCH.

For a 2 bed in Bella Vista and asking 300K is why it isn't selling. It is only worth about 150K maybe a tad higher, buy my best friend lives in Bella Vista and her old home has sole 3 times in the past 4 years for less than 150K.

All those legal bills along with the addition of Anna and her kids really add up quickly. What income has JB had since the shows ended? I doubt the rental properties cover the liens. He sold off a lot to defend the indefensible Josh. Then the appeal. Too bad those kids didn't get a proper education and go to college. Some could have really good careers by now and may have helped out poor ol' mom and dad. Looks like the boys working for JB isn't working out too well. Those are high prices in that part of Arkansas. I can't imagine that many folks want to move there.

As an Arkansas resident who just completed a renovation project (not even a full build), i can attest to the fact that building costs have more than doubled in the last 3 years. No one in this state is building or buying right now if they can help it.

How is Anna supporting and feeding her kids? We know JB barely paid the kids to be on the show all those years, but there’s no business for Josh’s family anymore, after all the lawyer fees - Anna should be working, sending her kids to actual school so she can work during the day, but she probably has no skills and nothing to put on a resume - I just don’t know how she’s putting food in her kids mouths - whatever money she has right now I’m sure will not last for the next 10 years, and it probably won’t be easy for him to get a job when he does get out! And Jim Bob is such a narcissist that he may be helping Anna for now (like letting them live in a warehouse) but I doubt that will happen long term… and they can forget about getting paid through show syndication!

@@DimaRakesah I know most housing prices are set like this but in my opinion they shouldn’t be. Rent or buying. No one can afford that. It’s also no wonder that house hasn’t sold. Like I can see a 4 or 5 bedroom house being $310,000 but a 2 bedroom for that price is ridiculous. No home should be that expensive nor should anything else be that expensive. It’s inhumane how much everything costs anymore. It’s sad.

They sure have made a lot of stupid real estate moves. I guess in the past they had enough money to absorb the losses, but now they have to be smarter. Why in the world would anyone build a 1,700 sf house with only 2 bedrooms? Then they bought property that needed rezoning, there was that house Josh bought that needed massive remodeling, and probably more we don't know about. Sounds like they are having cash flow problems, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving POS.

The contractor who filed the Mechanics lien should get paid when the house is sold. Usually if there is such a lien the contractor gets paid out of the proceeds of the sale, and before the seller is paid. Hopefully this will be the case, although who knows how things work in Arkansas 🙄. I think that house is overpriced and looks cheap to me. Good work on digging up the property info, Katie.

Sadly, the only way small contractors get paid is to use a mechanics lien. We usually got paid a few days after filing
