My brother and his friends went to a comic con and met Cary Elwes. One of his friends asked Cary to sign her "Princess Bride" book. He was like "Of course my Princess!" so she started crying at being called princess. So he gave her a hug and told her she was adorable which made her cry even harder. She truly won that day, I'm envious but I also am so happy she got to meet him.

I met him a few years ago at a comic con and he had a huge line, but every fan he was so kind to. I told him how my husband and I had a hard time on which picture to pick for an autograph because he has too many good movies to pick from, but we wound up with Robin Hood Men in Tights and he said "ah, my favorite too, you chose wisely" we had a good laugh. He's a very nice person.

LOL! I had seen Kevin Costner's version (it had Alan Rickman in it, AND Michael Wincott, Top Dollar from "The Crow," so I think it was awesome) and had talked about it a few years later with my then boyfriend when this was about to come out. He went with friends to see this, and called me afterword. He was raving about it and he said "You'll never guess who plays King Richard!" I thought about it a bit...hmmm, it has to be someone folks today will recognize, and given that it makes a point of having English accents, so he must have one, and also be dashing, handsome and kingly! So I said "Patrick Stewart!" My boyfriend didn't say anything for a moment, then went with a VERY petulant "No." He was seriously annoyed I guessed it right off. But Sirs Patrick and Sean are on a similar level to me, and even as a teen I considered them very attractive, so it seemed logical. When I saw the movie, I wasn't surprised to see Patrick, but until I did see it, my boyfriend continued to insist it wasn't Patrick Stewart (he hadn't been knighted yet). When I finally did see it, my boyfriend was still sulking when I called him out on trying to trick me.

they missed quite a few things in 80's and 90's movies. even some early 2000's. a LOT of reaction vids done by people their age don't get most of topical references and jokes because they're simply too young to know the "mind is a terrible thing to waste" ad campaign. most people doing reviews of Mel brooks movies (that are of similar ages.) miss so much more than they get. again it's an age thing. the other thing is most of them won't react or simply cut out many of the funniest lines because they fear offending someone that might possibly be offended by a JOKE written 45yrs ago. the not getting jokes part isn't a knock on them. none of us have any control in what year we were born.

Every Mel Brooks movie is going to send you over the edge with this craziness because he's just so zany! He's off his hook and like King of the puns, double entendre, man, he was brought up with vaudeville and his family so that's why there's usually a lot of slapstick physical comedy going on in there... also quite a bit of visual humor. My guys~I'M pretty surprised you guys didn't pick up one fact that the mole on John's face keeps moving in every different shot of him. It wasn't mentioned this reaction at all so I don't know if you picked up on it or not but it doesn't seem like you guys said anything about it. IF you missed it go back into the movie and check it out again... Now that is really all over the map of his face. I'm so glad gher used the same actor for the lead in this movie as they did for Princess Bride. Dave Chappelle as Achoo is too much man... just way too much with that reference to Blazing Saddles. 😂 #NYGenXBIKERLady

I'd like to recommend *The Adventures of Robin Hood* starring Errol Flynn. Also *The Thin Man* from 1934. Murder mystery with humor.

Blinken is my favorite! His lines fucking kill me! "OH master Robin, you lost your arms in battul!" "Did you just say Abe Lincoln?!" And my favorite "Guessing... I'm guessing no one is coming" Hahahahahahaha

My favorite joke is when Blinkin is telling Robin about his family. Robin: "My goldfish Goldie?" Blinkin: "Eaten by the cat." Robin: "My cat?" Blinkin: "Choked on the goldfish." :D

Watch "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1930s) and "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." These were the 2 biggest ones parodied for this flick (esp the choreography--that's straight from the 30s movie).

You do realize that the hangman is Boris from Blazing Saddles - however his eyepatch is over his other eye this time. When the king is kissing Marian the rabbi says "It's good to be the king", that's another famous line from the Mel Brooks movie History of the World Part1

Hey guys, thanks for reacting to this, I love this movie! Some explanations from my side: 1. "White men can't jump" is a movie feat. Wesley Snipes that came out little before this one. 2. Patrick Stewart was an Shakespear actor but of course better known as Cpt. Picard in Star Trek TNG, especially in the early 90s. 3. "It's goot to be the king!" is a reference to the movie "History of the world: Part one", also directed by Mel Brooks. 4. The "English accent" line is a pun against Kevin Costner's performance in "Robin Hood: King of thieves" which was a blockbuster in '91. 5. The magic pill is a "Life Saver" 😉 6. The screaming kid is a reference to Kevin in "Home alone". Greetings from Germany!

You'll pick up on new jokes every time you watch it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this movie. Today was the first time I realized the Bagels and Lox joke because you drew attention to it. My favorite joke in the whole thing is at the end when Latrine is saving the sheriff the pill she gave him to save his life is a lifesaver mint candy.

this is my favorite comedy of all time! I remember the first time I saw it was when my parents ordered it on Pay-Per-View when we lived in Alaska in the mid-90's. This movie has so many funny quotes! The interaction when prince John asks Robin, "And, why should the people listen to you?" And, Robin replies, "Because unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent!" Total shade at Kevin Costner, who had just played Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. And, at the end, after Robin appoints Achoo the sheriff. After the townspeople exclaim, "A black sheriff?!" And, Achoo replies, "And why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles." I love those lines!!!!
