A different category from before: this time we're picking up all the Surprise items and getting all the weapon upgrades from Challenge Stages
Challenge Stages are just killing enemies or grilling chicken in a time limit. These award Duke with an upgraded weapon.
The Super Eagle and especially the Super Shotgun make the run much more consistent than the normal Any% run.
There's also a hidden "feature" (probably a bug) - If you exit the level before a challenge stage with a weapon out, after you finish the challenge, that weapon's ammo gets replenished to maximum.
In Obey or Die I purposefully take out the shotgun before exiting the level and in Resistance Is Feudal I take the throwing axes out so I have 5 for the boss later.
The run itself has a few big mistakes, Resistance Is Feudal being a complete mess and Blood Baths having a routing error being a few examples
Interesting stuff
15:15 The first time you fire the Super Shotgun after acquiring it, it keeps firing as long as you hold the button down for some reason(the limit should be 3 shots)
18:33 The Reaper has a quite fast kill thanks to hitting the boss with the explosive barrels (my record is 16 seconds IGT so it can be much faster though) The Barrels are also easier to hit thanks to the Shotgun spread
36:20 Wing'ed Death is much more consistent, since thanks to the challenge stage trick, you start with 5 axes. Simply run up to the boss, Axes→RPG→Gatling and he's down in 30 seconds
38:27 Pig Factory is much faster. Tobias told me in the comments that you can clip through the box to get the Valve Room Key, which means you don't need the crystal from the portal.
39:15 This has happened to me before but I couldn't replicate it and now I finally have video footage. Duke for some reason only turns the valve once, letting me jetpack up which is much faster than waiting for the water to fill the room.
Some of the valves seem random(anywhere from 1 to 3 turns) but some seem to be 3 turns every time.
Would be nice if we figured out if it's just luck or if it can be manipulated

That was a tight recovery at 31:52, man. I was expecting you would not have enough jetpack for this move. Also the final jump before Portal in Obey or Die was very risky among other smooth moves and recovery in blood baths was very nice too. It's insane how you are good in this game, and got better improving every run. You must have the same passion for this game that I have. Although you play a lot better lol. Now I know how this game is a lot of fun to run and watch, and very adictive too. But it can be very frustrating because of controls and "run kill" pits and places one can fall or get stuck but even then you pull off a backup smoothly which could only be done through high improvised skill in the game. I wish I can someday play as good as you.

If you allow me, I can give you 2 or 3 tips based on what I notticed on your run. The Valve you turn at 37:45 is unecessary. It only drains the water at main room to a certain level where you could reach the red crystal, which now as you used the keycard glitch you don't need anymore. When you scape the flooding room, all the water is drained. Also in Pig Factory you could consider just going to the ceiling on the very end of the stage, Take the surprise and the jetpack and go into the portal. So in Hog Heaven you will have a brand new jetpack, so you can fly all the market area and corridors - which is faster than running - until 43:20 where you can take another jetpack hidden down there before you die in the lava. So you will have flown most of hog heaven and have an extra jetpack for Let the Games Begin for safety. At least for me it saves quite some time. My record for this category is 57 min and 54 sec. Your time is insane, mate. Congrats!

Thanks for the heads up! I hadn't thought about that valve at all. The Hog Heaven jetpack is also a good idea. I was thinking of picking it up on this run but thought I had enough and once I jumped in the lava I realized 42 fuel is not enough so I had to improvise on Let the Games Begin. What I noticed on your run is you seem to try and kill way too many enemies instead of running past them.

@@bai6297 Yeah. Thank you for noticing and the heads up too! As in this game enemies randomly run in all directions abruptely, I am very frustrated on how many runs I lost to low health. So I'm always afraid to take too much damage, let them behind as they keep shooting at you, or worse, getting stuck into them. But as I will try to improve it with time I will take more risks! Specially on my Wussy% that I think is worse than my Surprise% run. At the end, It's all a matter of routing enemies start positions that I need to do better =D

To be honest, the ai of the enemies in this one is pretty neat. I like that they move around plenty, pretty random as well. The fact that headshots were a thing and dismemberment as well. What is the Energy Gun upgrade? Also, Incendiary RPG, assuming it doesn't insta kill most enemies. :o

About the Incendiary RPG I'm not sure, it's probably something like more damage/bigger explosions. The Super Zapper (upgraded Energy Weapon) can hit multiple enemies at once and it can also auto-target enemies better. You can see that on the challenge stage it shoots off almost 90 degrees to the side. ( 48:50 around here you can see both)

No, Duckstation didn't exist at the time. This video uses ePSXe. These days, I would definitely rather use Duckstation than ePSXe though.

I kind of miss this type of gameplay in 2020[only baIdigame had 10% of it which is top1],also will u do 100% someday?(all secrets except glitched out levels,all kills except glitched out levels and all surprises)

I might do more of a "walkthrough-style" video of the game at some point, ideally on Death Wish for a bit of a challenge. I wouldn't want to make it like a speedrun though, just a more relaxed gameplay video.
