@@yungelplaga9538 It's actually what most players do after their throw gets broken. And most of the time, it's a long range knockdown or launching move, so just sit tight and block, because if it's a spammy opponent, they will 90% apply a long range move afterwards INSTANTLY. Get ready to punish or launch that shit.

Nice guide bro. I'm at red ranks and I still can't break throws at reaction. I can see them but always just end up guessing what to press. If 1+2 didn't work, I'd just use 1/2 next time and pray it works. Good opponents know how to mix them up though.
@Samaelish

1. Most chars in the game only have generics and one command throw. Since generics are low reward and easy to break, people tend to do a command throw. Since most characters don't have "f,f" command throw input you can stay aware of the distance and easily escape a generic throw when you feel that you're out of range. 2. When facing a character with good command throws, such as Paul, Jin, Dragunov, Xiaoyu, Kings - keeping your range(preferable range depends on the matchup) might help. Also, high throws are launchpunishable if ducked. Don't miss that opportunity, make your opponent hesitant before applying throw pressure. The hesitation will result in worse neutral. Throws are an additional layer of mindgame not just for you, but also for your opponent. 3. Players have habits(usually based on some strategy) when it comes to throws, such as doing Kazumi's 1+2 to wallsplat, or when Kings do Giant Swing when their back is to the wall. Same goes for Paul's 1+4 (1 break). 4. You'll rarely find a player who wins by cleverly using throws(or chain throws) in neutral, especially at a pro level. More than 99% of players, even grapplers like Lil Majin stick to pokes and punishes. With King you can also go for some setups for throws, but throws in neutral are pretty rare.

Apparently in Korea they like to use 1+2 throws to blow up jab mashing, what theoretically would happen is that the throw would connect whilist the opponent is in the process of pressing 1/2, and therefore they would accidentally fail the break attempt even before they actually tried it

1+2 is generally harder to accidentally break than 1 or 2 so yeah it does make sense

its harder to read on arms on actual game with pressure. though im not on expert level on throw countering, what helped me the most is i look at waist/chest on grab. if it big twist, its a 2, if it twist a little its 1+2, if it doesnt its 1. it is also easier for me to break on Player 2 side, as it shows the front of the player rather than the back side.

I clicked the video, then immediately clicked your description lol . Dang it so even seasoned players have trouble with this... while that’s reassuring to me, a newer player, it’s also frustrating to hear. I’ve come to understand how to break throws, but just HOW do you recognize on reaction if it was a 1, 2 or 1+2? From far away I can see the arms ... but when my opponent is super close to me, I can’t see which arm is extending out more. So I can’t even tell if I’m successfully reacting on time because I don’t break the throw (I guess this can be resolved if I familiarize myself with every single character’s generic throw and command throw to know which animation just occurred and which throw break it should’ve been). So any tips on how to tell what throw it is from a close range when I can’t see which arm extends first? Or how to guess more accurately? I hope you cover tackles too which have their own unique break commands if I recall

I break a lot better if I'm playing on P2 side, where the front of the opponent is shown to be rather than the back, making it easier for me to discern the hands. But tbh its just experience and a little bit of practice. I'm a lot better at breaking throws now than I was a few months ago. Before I basically wouldn't be able to break them unless they were regular throws. Nowadays my throw break rate is way higher than it used to be. I'd say if I have any tips, it would be to try to look at your opponent's character more than your own, this way you'll be more aware of what they're doing and might notice the hands better

I wish tekken had an inverted mode because I don't find it intuitive we spend time learning limb notations only to now have to pay attention to the opponents limb. It messes with my mind. They grab me with a one break but they grab me by my right arm, intuition says break that with 2 you know what I mean? I don't like having to pay attention to my opponent's arms more than mine.

Awesome video man. to Practice breaking throw just slow down the game (with cheat engine) and slowly increase the speed so your brain can get used to it.and like he said in the video ,make the computer throw the throws (preferably jack as his hands are more seeable).But remember to use command throws which are broken with 1, 2, and 1+2 so you get that randomness.Peace

I think you should have said that you dont have to guess between all 3 breaks on characters who dont have throws for all 3 breaks, and only need to guess between the ones they have. Also that characters with only a 1+2 break and still mix with their generic throws.

That logic doesn't work for a noob who's still new to breaking throws, so they won't likely know if their opponent has multiple command throws or not. Ultimately a guess is still a guess, and they have 3 options no matter what Chain throws were brought up alongside King/Armor King's crouch dash throws as being ambiguous. Watch again

Something that always bothered me about fighting games is that when players are speaking on a technical level, they always use numbers instead of buttons or moves like left punch, low kick or some shit like that. Reasons like this are why I've never been able to commit legitimately to a fighting game in My whole career as a gamer, couldn't understand the online tutorials and don't have friends that could explain it to me. I know they speak like that to reach a more global audience, since fighting games tend to be in most if not all platforms and not control scheme is universal.

The goal of my T7 Concepts videos is to serve as an introduction for beginner players who are learning the game in the most concise and simple way possible to make it easy to digest, and this format of video is rarely seen, hence why I'm making them. I wouldn't be making such videos if I didn't think they brought something to the table. It would be so easy for me to do the typical lazy style of Tekken content where I just explain and babble for 15 minutes unedited and just uploading it. Condensing the general information into a short and simple video is my goal here for making these videos The game is basically 4 years old at this point, so trying to find new content to make on it, particularly about its concepts, is dead impossible. Because these videos are made to be simple and easily digestible, they were never made with the intention to be super elaborate or detailed. You wouldn't want a beginner/intermediate to look for a video, only to not understand the content of it. Why would I explain each and every King chain throw in a video that's supposed to be about general throws? In any case if you don't like the content, its up to you. To me if even a few people benefited and learned something from this video, it was worth making. Thanks for reading and fuck you

The more content creators, the better. I am a fairly newer player, and I appreciate anyone who takes their time to share knowledge with scrubs like me.
